Golf Tee Simulator 2010

  1. 1. “TECHNOLOGY WITH ATTITUDE”THE ULTIMATE INDOOR GOLF SIMULATION EXPERIENCE!
  2. 2. BACKGROUNDTechtude has built a reputation as South Africa’s leading simulator integrators holding agencies forthe Australian “HyperStimulator” Cockpit Race Car Simulator and the USA designed Apex SC830Motion Simulator. Having completed a number of unique bespoke simulator installations in the SouthAfrican market, Techtude has identified the need for a quality, professional and cost effective GolfSimulator to launch into the SA market. With much research and years of experience Techtude hasidentified the Dutch designed and manufactured “ProTee Golf Simulator 2.0” as the most widely usedand installed professional golf simulator in the world. Techtude now offers the ProTee Golf Simulatorin three versions for the SA market, kit form to build your own, full size system for professionalinstallations or the driving range version.PROTEE GOLF SIMULATOR 2.0The ProTee Golf Simulator 2.0 is one of the most advanced a nd affordable 3D Golf Simulatorsystems available on the market today. The Golf Simulator from ProTee has been uniquelydesigned to experience the ultimate 3D Golf Simulation at an affordable price. The Indoor Golf Simulator system allows you to use your own golf clubs (from driver to putter)and play a complete round of golf. Or maybe just practice, working on that swi ng fault all in thecomfort of your own home or office. The views of the golf course can be either projected onto alarge screen set in front of the player or just viewed on your computer monitor set to the side.Using your own clubs, you set up to hit the shot just as you would on a real course. The systemallows you to drive off the tee, hit fairway shots, pitch, chip and putt the ball int o the hole. Afterevery shot, the system automatically flies along the balls trajectory to where the ball lies, readyfor the next shot.Whether you are a pro or just a beginner, the investment in an Advanced Indoor Golf Simulatorwill do more for your game than any of the latest space-age technology clubs you can buy. Andits fun too.Our advanced 3D Golf Simulator Game Software allows up to 4 players to play in one flight andautomatically keeps score for you. When you play against other ProTee Golf Simulator ownersover the internet, the system will handle up to 8 players in a single flight.Apart from being great fun to use, the ProTee Golf Simulator is also a great teaching andlearning aid. If you want to improve your game and struggling with a swing fault, you will seewhat causes the problem(s) -i.e. the clubface at impact to the ball. Even your pro cant seewhats really happening at the point of impact with a clubface travelling at over 160 Kph! Techtude (Pty) Ltd. 2004/015325/07 | Directors: RL Major (Managing), DM Major 2
  3. 3. FEATURESHigh accuracy modular sensor club matThe professional sensor mat detects club-head speed to within 0.00085 kmh - , club-face angleto within 0.001 degrees and club-head path to within 1.0 degrees.Amazing viewsSpectacular views of many 18 hole championship golf courses. The system uses a combinationof real high resolution 3D digitized photos and computer generated graphics with contouredterrain and obstacle definition - balls bounce off trees, carts etc. and roll down hills - even intowater with a splash.HighPerformance graphicsThe graphics system is a high resolution and high performance one (typically 70 frames persecond and 16.7 million brilliant colors) that allows the user to move in real-time around thecourse. This is in strong contrast to all other systems that only show a static view. The graphicssystem is actually like a continuous movie. e.g. If, at any time during the game you wan t to seewhat lies behind a hill, you can simply navigate the virtual camera to go and have a look.Course fly-overs and multiple simultaneous views are all standard features. The user can evenset the virtual view camera to be in the ball itself so that h e/she may fly with the ball along itstrajectory in real time. Techtude (Pty) Ltd. 2004/015325/07 | Directors: RL Major (Managing), DM Major 3
  4. 4. Fly with the ballAfter your shot the virtual 3D graphics camera will fly you along the balls trajectory to wherethe ball lies for the next shot. As opposed to other systems wh ere you have to wait for the newview to be calculated, the graphic system is so fast it seems instantaneous.Realistic ball flight trajectory, bounce and rollIncluding hooks, slices, pushes, pulls, fades and draws or any combination thereof, i.e. pushedhooks, pulled slices etc. plus wind factors (strength and direction) are also taken into account. When chipping and putting, the ball will follow the contour of the surface and its path and speedwill be influenced accordingly. Also, the flight trajectories of missed shots are shown i.e. toppedor fat shots, skied and shanked etc. The flight trajectory calculation routines use provenmathematical formulas that use all the parameters of the clubface at impact with the balltogether with the balls initial flight angles and velocities. At all times, a course overview window can be kept open showing the trajectory from a bird’seye view. The ball in this window flies in parallel with the normal ball.Design your own golf coursesThis unique feature allows you to integrate your own designed golf courses using our 3Dcourse editor. The surface texture maps, topographic height and light maps, surfacerecognition, sky boxes and object maps are all fully integrated. The level of detail and realism isonly limited by your artistic abilities, imagination and time.Ball image starts at the ball impact point on the screen in real timeWhen you hit the golf ball into a special projection screen, the screen will absorb it s energy andit will fall to the floor. Its image, however, will continue on from the point of impact on theprojection screen in a continuous smooth flow. And it is this aspect of the software - togetherwith the field-of-view and perspective giving you the impression you are standing on the course- that makes the simulator so life-like and differentiates it from normal PC golf game software. You can aim at any target on the screen and if you hit an obstacle (ie a tree branch) the ball willbounce off accordingly. 5. 5. Swing AnalysisSee why the ball flew the way it did. High speed optical sensors are built into the sensor mat tocapture all elements of the club face at impact with the ball and the balls true direction andspeed. This data is shown graphically in pop-up windows after every shot. Data included:  Club head speed at impact to the ball.  Club face angle at impact (number of degrees open or closed) in relation to path angle.  Club head angle of approach (hitting the ball on the down or up -stroke).  Swing path in degrees (i.e. from out to in, in - out etc).  Ball position on club-face at impact (vertical and horizontal distance from sweet spot on club-face is captured).  Effective club-face loft at impact. i.e. a 7 iron normally has 40° of l oft, but when the club is held at anything other than 90° to the ball, the effective angle at impact will be changed. Also, the club-face angle and hitting the ball on the upward or downward stroke will affect the loft angle and thus the flight of the ball.  Ball spin rates and directions are calculated from the captured club data at impact. Side (or horizontal) spin as well as top (or vertical) spin rates are calculated and summed to give a final spin rate and spin direction. The side spin causes the ball to curve left or right depending on the direction of spin and the positive top spin will give extra lift and distance. Negative top spin (caused by topping the ball) will, on the other hand, cause the ball to dive.  Ball launch path angle.  Ball launch velocity.
