Huangshan Mountains

The Huangshan is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. The Huang Shan are a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature. Today, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's most popular tourist destinations.

The Mountains
There is a Chinese saying:
"No need to see other mountains after Huangshan!"

The Huangshan mountain range comprises many peaks, 77 of which exceed 1,000 m in altitude. The three tallest peaks are Lotus Peak (1,864 m), nearby Bright Summit Peak (1,840 m) and Celestial Peak (1,829 m). The World Heritage Site covers a core area of 154 square kilometers and a buffer zone of 142 square kilometers.

Winter in Huangshan is a world of silver dreams. Numerous ravines and peaks in Huangshan Mountain are covered with snow and ice. Making one feel to be in the paradise.

Huangshan is famous for 4 Sceneries:
Pine Trees,
Strange Rocks,
Sun Rise, and
the "sea of clouds "

Pine Trees
Pine tree is one of the "4 sceneries" at Huangshan mountain.

You'll see many pine trees growing on mountain sides and rocks with little visible soil. Many trees are given colorful names to reflect its unique shapes such as the 'dragon claw' and the 'black tiger' pine trees.

Rocks
" It is rewarding to climb up thousands of steps. On the top of this mountain you can find what poets and painters were inspired by for centuries. " - a TV member

According to their locations, the seas of clouds are divided into East Sea, South Sea, West Sea, North Sea and Sky Sea.
If you climb up the Lotus Peak, the Heaven Capital Peak and the Bright Peak, you will find yourself above the level of the clouds and they appear as a sea beneath you!

Peaks, large and small, hide and reappear in the boundless waves of clouds. The Heavenly Capital Peak and the Bright Peak appear as isolated islands within this white sea.

The Waterfalls
Rain pines, odd stones, cloud sea and hot springs are representative for this area. There are over 1450 kind of plants naturally scattered al over and more than 470 kinds of animals. There are over 200 ancient temples, pavilions and stone tablets there!
