      • As human beings, we are closely connected with all living things on earth.

      • We are going to learn how living organisms create all the life on our planet by interacting with one another and with their surroundings.

      • All forms of life have a single universal code written in their genes.

      • Student’s participation in online learning community.

      • “ My Biology” Website, created by Mr. Romero to post class notes, homework assignments and participation in online discussions.
      • The use of digital tools such as: computers,digital cameras,video cameras, softwares, and GPS devices. 
      •  
      • Required Book: 2010 Miller/Levine Electronic Biology book.
    • Labs and Activities
      • Labs that support the topics and chapters covered in class.
      • Labs that demonstrate the application of the biological concepts
      • in everyday life.
      • Labs that strengthen the knowledge of biological concepts.
      • Activities that reinforce key biological concepts and
      • Activities that build key technology skills.
    • Field Project: Trip to Eagle Rock Reservation, NJ
      • Human Impact on the Environment
    • Field Project (Continue)
      • 1. By using the Educational Technology standard CPI # 8.1.8.E.1- The Effective 
      •      use of digital tools to gather and organize information.
      •  
      • 2. Students photograph the surroundings areas of Eagle Rock Reservation
      • 3. Students use a GPS device to locate the sites photographed
      • 4. Students may search Google Earth for additional geographic information.
      • 5. Students use digital video cameras to document our field activity and then  
      •      create a video presentation. (posted in the “My Biology” website)
      • 6. Students compose an activity report and hand it   to me.   
      •  
    • Grades and Evaluations
      • Labs report must be handed on time
      •  
      • Quizzes before and after every topic.
      • 5 tests, one for each topic
      •  
      • Students will graded on the field project based on:
      • Original activity report, use of graphics, video, and posting on the discussion website.
