  1. 1. O nce upon a time there was a mother duck with many eggs in her nest. One day, all of the eggs opened, and the babies came out, except one big egg. When Mother Duck saw the egg, she got scared. She thought it was a turkey egg. After many days, the big egg opened. When Mother Duck saw the baby she said, “You’re so big! So ugly! Your name will be Ugly Duckling!”

He thought they were beautiful. “I want to fly,” said Ugly Duckling, and he started moving his wings. Suddenly, he was flying in the air like the other birds. “I’m flying! I’m flying!,” said Ugly Duckling. He saw a beautiful swan flying near him. He said, “I know I am ugly, but I want to be your friend.” The swan looked at Ugly Duckling and said, “You are not ugly. You are a beautiful swan.”
