  • 2. Separating White Light
    • As white light passes through a prism, shorter wavelengths refract more than longer wavelengths and colors separate.
    • This is called dispersion
  • 3. Color of objects
    • An objects color depends on what it is made of and on the color of light that hits it.
    • Primary colors are Red , Green , and Blue . When combined in varying amounts they can create all possible colors
    • Secondary Colors are Cyan , Yellow , and Magenta . They are a combination of two primary colors.
    • Complimentary colors of light are two colors that combine to form white light
  • 4. Mixing Pigments
    • Pigment is a material that absorbs some colors of light and reflects other colors.
    • Primary pigment colors are Cyan yellow and magenta.
