  5. 5. Client Case Study 1 – The DJ (From Skeptic to Surfing All Day) BACKGROUND: I met Sean at a local workshop and he then came out to my (then) Canada Marketing Summit in 2009. He was skeptical of what he was hearing from speakers on stage in regards to their info-product business numbers. After a few talks, he and I started working together as I learned that he had an impressive DJing background. START: Sean started with a strong work ethic, fantastic business savvy but mostly zero info product / direct response and online marketing experience. He also started with a modest budget.   6. 6. Having met Rob and then learning of his journey from a cook to an established online marketer and then meeting his contacts has been tremendous value to me! And I'm very grateful for it. Put aside the fact that Rob and I are good friends now, from a business stand-point, he was a catalyst that allowed me to build an asset worth roughly $40,000 in just a few months with a cashflow of $2700 in recurring income which I expect will be around $3500/month in the next 30 days because of the business model we built. (Rob said $1800 in the email but his numbers are outdated). In fact, that model is something that Rob had a lot of input in. I met at his place several times besides our "sushi man-dates", lol, and I definitely picked his brain. Even now, when I write any promotions or when I get new sites live, I can run it by Rob.   7. 7. But that site, the 11,000+ mailing list I now have, the growing affiliate base, the business model, my products and, of course, my customers... none of that existed just months ago. I also met so many other guys who I now call friends and can call upon for advice. Because of one of those friendships, I ended up hanging out with Eben Pagan this summer ... yes, the $25 mil+ per year internet marketing super-star. Back in April, I had a basic site, no subscribers, no product, no sales, no system. By August, I had a powerful "entourage" (as Rob called it) and had spent 1-on-1 time at an amazing party with Eben Pagan. And now in October, my business is just starting to open up and I'm already at $2700+ recurring per month. So I have to say.. I saw Rob's offer. There's no question that I recommend you taking him up on it. Having him to call upon, having him help build an actual and profitable business model, having him point you to the right resources, maybe even meeting some of his contacts... it's insane. The guy is a connecter, innovator and a hard worker. You can NOT go wrong with having him on your side. ”
  8. 8. Client Case Study 2 – The Golfer and the $24,000 Birthday Gift BACKGROUND: I came across Craig’s offer on Clickbank and felt I could help that particular offer, so I reached out to him. PROBLEM: Craig had a number of different golf products. Each sold as stand-alone offers. On weak converting and very slow loading pages. No brand. No funnel. Weak conversions. And no clear marketing or traffic strategy. He had poured a lot of time and effort into a lot of great products… but was barely making sense of it all. RESULT: The first task was to take inventory of everything. His free content, his opt-in incentives, his products, upsells, all of his pages and more. Then we developed a clear action plan based on priorities/phases and ignored everything else. We developed ONE parent brand and, along with it, a new website using my recommended contractors (which kept costs low for the project). Many logistics items were also addressed as we worked towards building ONE strong brand, one strong converting funnel and ONE product line (vs individual products). We later expanded into licensing deals with major golfers and more to really build up the product line’s authority. In the midst of all this, to top-off some of the cashflow concerns, we hosted a “birthday sale” (not a product launch which is what Craig says in the video). Client Case Study 3 – The Physical Product Licensee And the $140k (Later $240k) In Sales BACKGROUND: I was contacted by Collin to work with him on a promotion for selling some really top-name courses that he was one of the only resale license holder of. We got started on an initial small contract. PROBLEM: The courses he owned licenses to were fantastic. Some were classics. Some were new. All were premium in content though. However, many of these didn’t even have webpages. Some needed new physical packaging solutions. And the ones that did have webpages were old and ineffective. RESULT: We got to work first, as usual, taking inventory of what’s on hand. All the various courses that could be built into ONE funnel (vs just dozens of high value courses selling individually). All of the free content we had available. The past marketing collateral and swipes. Then it was time to take everything step by step. Phases were for the “re-launch” of these products were built into a project. Once the roll-out strategy was developed, the tech/design and packaging needs were tackled. Salescopy was refreshed, revised or written. The funnel was then put together. I planned several “launches” to roll the momentum from one to another. Affiliate recruitment was given a lot of attention. Including custom launch training booklet being created and more. But financial costs being invested were minimal at this point. The result from the first 2 of the 3 rolling launches is in this screenshot.

  12. 12. Client Case Study 4 – NFL Strength Coaches and 30X Increase In Revenue BACKGROUND: I came across a team of 3 coaches who have a tremendous resume and were selling an offer on Clickbank. They train NFL teams, and pro athletes in various sports with fantastic track records. PROBLEM: The coaches decided to sell footage of their training sessions and their best tips and built valuable content using their very limited video skills. However, everything beyond that point was badly broken. Their website had tremendous credibility and navigation leaks. Their salescopy was plain and cookie-cutter. Their product strategy, pricing and delivery had a lot of very costly flaws. Their conversions were nearly non-existent. RESULT: After taking inventory of their full content and web assets, a BRAND was developed. A new site was developed (at an amazing low rate using my contractors, since the team had next to 0 as a budget ). The website’s focus was in simplifying navigation, assisting the sales process, conveying trust and credibility and other conversion optimization. The salescopy was revamped by them (since they lacked the budget to hire someone) using my “salescopy cheat” techniques. The product “packaging” , how it was presented and the price point were changed. By the end, they had a professional brand they could be proud of. An effective website loaded with content. In our initial round of changes, working with a extremely limited time and financial budget on their end, we took overall conversions from their previous 0.4% to 1.2% . That would be a 3X increase. Which is already impressive given the budget limitations and the team’s lack of web/marketing skills for any real effort. However, I also raised their prices 10X! Which they were not comfortable with but trusted me on. The 1.2% conversion boost was based on a 10X price (from $9.99/month to $99/month) . That’s roughly a 30X ROI. 
  13. 13. Client Case Study 5 – Web Business, Impossible to Sell, Sold in 30-Days for $125k BACKGROUND: I built an instant respect for and later trust for a marketer named Mike Mograbi. He (was) the founder of a primary news portal for the “internet marketing” industry. I interviewed him sometime late 2008 and built a friendship over the years. PROBLEM: Mike did a fantastic job at winning over the entire IM (internet marketing) landscape with the curated and news content and NO ADS on his site. No ads, no affiliate links, no promotions. Over a period of 5 years, nearly every major internet marketing brand-name “guru” had promoted IM NewsWatch simply for the value of it (no commissions, since there wasn’t anything for sale). Everyone loved it. Traffic hit nearly 1,000,000 in its best year. For a complete unmonetized website. HOWEVER, after 5 years of running this in the background, Mike had much larger (billion dollar potential) interests and this site became a distraction. The challenge was that even though it held strong SEO, tens of thousands of content pieces, valuable back links, over a quarter million of IM industry visitors per year, subscriber list, brand value and so much more… it had $0 revenues since it was never monetized. Many felt this asset wouldn’t sell for more than $40,000 . But Mike wanted to see if we could sell it for $100,000. I did my own analysis and agreed that the property was worth in excess of $100,000 (even though it had $0 revenue). RESULT: After assessing all of the value of IMNewsWatch, I created a marketing plan along with a “slide deck” (slides in PDF) . I knew I wouldn’t have to look too far for right buyer (even though many of the wrong buyers said I was crazy for attempting to even sell it for $100,000). In under 30 days, I had successfully sold this $0 revenue property for $125,000. Mike used the funds to invest into his new company and we supported the new owner in the key transition points and the “re-launch” marketing strategy.

Client Case Study 6 – Dating Industry Failure to Full Product Line and Equity Offer BACKGROUND: My team used to run a lean gen process for me where they’d find web businesses matching certain criteria I laid out. This process alone has brought me $100,000+ in clients I’m sure (at probably 20X ROI since I doubt I spent more than $5000 in labor on it). One of those deals was an offer in the dating space listed on Clickbank. PROBLEM: I approached the client and let them know that I felt they had an evergreen product but a salescopy and branding that would cost them a lot of sales and conversions. After a couple of rounds of back and worth, we agreed to move forward on a smaller project. RESULT: From our initial work (namely the strategy for business development), the success and satisfaction was high enough that a new retainer contract was quickly engaged AND equity in the company was discussed (and locked in). .. And that’s when the fun really started. Their product, it turned out, was a rushed job. It was horribly low quality and would have received very high refunds. And they had no upsell. I turned the 1 weak product into what they have now today… a brand was developed as well as a product series. The product itself was rebuilt from step 1. Complete re-write. New complimentary products were created. Salespages and full funnels were mapped out and created. Affiliate recruitment strategy was built. Instead of having 1 “dead” product that had 0% chance of success, the company now is a strong and respected brand with 2 live offers, a 3rd coming out shortly and a 4th (as a license deal) waiting right behind.   15. 15. Client Case Study 7 – Organic Skin Care Product, New Brand Going To Retail BACKGROUND: I met Linda, the CEO and lead formulator for the, then 8 year old “Lavigne Organics” company. Lavigne (now 11 or 12 years old) sells premium, organic skin products via their e-commerce site (which was in bad shape when we met) and boutique retail stores. PROBLEM: I won’t tell the story of Lavigne here, suffice to say that I was re-hired 3 times .  Instead I’ll mention the company’s expansion into a new industry. We wanted to take Lavigne’s fantastic formulation which had properties that would be beneficial to not just the luxury skin care niche mostly dominated by women in their 30-60s … RESULT: Linda already had one of their products that she felt would be ideal to expand with. Now the question was who to sell to and how to make the transition. The “high impact sports” and “martial arts” space was identified as a great market to expand to. I want to work on their branding. Coordinating with my physical package designer, we created the new labels. A quick website was also put together along with key social media accounts setup. The marketing plan was then devised in Phases of how the marketing ad-spend should be rolled out for maximum results. This marketing plan is currently underway right now. The company is now operating in the martial arts / sports space which opens up an entire new world of opportunities. See the next page for the new product line…
  16. 16. This is the company’s new product and entry into the martial arts space. We took their previous container, and reworked everything. Of course, new name, new brand, new packaging. Based on initial talks and pending deals, these will be available not just from the company website but also sports retailers, gyms and similar (initially, only across Canada). As revenues grow for re- investment, the e-commerce side will be revamped and expanded on. For this product, the sales focus was on “offline” and retail vs direct to consumer given the margins of the product.

If your product is me-too and pointless, then (1) chances are I’ll see that from day 1 and wouldn’t move ahead, so I don’t waste either of ours time (2) you’d still see better conversions but they’d be fractional.
