High Valley ridge rises above the valley floor forming an isolated basin that traverses west to east. round Mountain (an active volcano during the Late Mt. Konocti 4,299 Ft. Pliocene Period) is located on the eastern end of the valley. Volcanic eruptions formed a unique ‘geology’ in High Valley resulting in excellent drainage conditions along with a variety of soil types ideal for hearvesting a wide range of grape varietals.
