We tense up for hours causing problems in the major muscles throughout our bodies- Guess what the muscles of our backs are some of the biggest muscles in the body. • Lower left back pain is normally due to common simple causes but you should always have any such pains checked out by your GP to make sure its not something more serious. • Most of the time the problem will be a strained muscle. If it is severe the pain can be relived using ice packs. The next thing that will help is heat which increases the circulation to the muscle and reduces tension. • Stretching exercises will help but you must warm up first or more injuries will occur, as a start make a habit of lying on your back on a hard surface for at least 5 minutes every day to relax your back then roll onto your side before getting up. • More serous causes of lower back pain are wear and tear as a result of age and perhaps injury. When joints become warn and inflamed Arthritis can occur.
