    • OUR FOUNDATION: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction .” (1:7)
    • I: OUR FIRST TRAINING IN WISDOM is at home – v. 8
      • A. Instruction of the Father – he being the head.
      • B. Forsake not the Law of thy mother – home training.
      • C. The Father is the head of the woman.
      • D. The local church is our spiritual home.

    • B. OUR VALUES ARE FIRST LEARNED AT HOME – v.9
    • Ornament of GRACE UNTO THY HEAD
      • - Education of the head – referring to moral discipline
    • B. Chains about thy neck
      • - That which people see
  • 4.
      • C. THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS A PLACE OF TEMPTATION – vs.5, 10-19
      • - First temptations always have to do with money.
      • - Our tempters are our peers.
      • - The oft recurring words , “My Son.” – vs. 8, 10, 15
      • - The love of money breeds greed. – v. 19
      • - Always associated with possible killing. – vs. 11, 16, 18, 19

      • D. BUT WISDOM KEEPS CALLING US EVEN OUTSIDE THE CONFINES OF OUR HOME – vs. 20-33
      • - The wisdom of old men at the gates – v.21
      • - The objects of wisdom are the simple ones (naïve) and the scorners – (v. 22)
      • - There is an end to opportunity to our refusal for wisdom – vs. 23-32
      • - But those who chose wisdom, safety and peace – v. 33
