Color Theory
Primary Colors: Red, blue, and yellow
Secondary Colors: Orange, purple, and green
Tertiary colors are mixtures of primary and secondary colors. They are red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, and yellow-orange.
Complimentary colors are pairs opposite of each other on the color wheel.
Analogous color schemes involve colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
Warm colors are based on reds and yellows.
Cool colors are based on blues and greens.
Tint is a mixture of a hue + white to increase lightness.
Shade is a hue + black to increase darkness.
Monochromatic color schemes involve a variety of tint and shade variations of a particular hue.
