1. 1. LET’S TALK ABOUT … DepEd!
    2. 2. The Philippines' Department of Education (Filipino: Kagawaran ng Edukasyon), abbreviated as DepEd, is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the management and upkeep of the Philippine system of education. It is the chief formulator of Philippine educational policy and is responsible for the Philippine primary and secondary school system. Higher education is managed by the DepEd in coordination with another body, the Commission on Higher Education The DepEd is also known by its old name, the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (Filipino: Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, Kultura at Palakasan), or DECS.

    5. 6.

Curriculum

In formal education, a curriculum is the set of courses, and their content, offered at a school or university . As an idea, curriculum stems from the Latin word for race course , referring to the course of deeds and experiences through which children grow to become mature adults .
    6. 7.

As a future Hokage, I will share to you curriculum of DepED which was use nowadays…

2002 Basic Education Curriculum

--- According to then-Sec. of Education Raul Roco (RIP), the 2002 BEC was based on a 16-year study (starting in 1986). Implementation of RBEC was based on Executive Order No. 46, which in turn was based on recommendations of the Philippine Commission on Educational Reforms (PCER), created on Dec. 7, 1998. Year 2004 when this BEC curriculum later RBEC was presented to teachers. Teachers were instructed to implement RBEC with Makabayan subjects and other tool subjects. They were provided with lesson guides and other materials for the implementation.

    7. 8. I am the first honor!!!!! Don’t you dare hope you’ll gonna beat me ugly!!! Over my dead sexy beautiful body! Stop dreaming you loser!!!!!!
    8. 9. Girls, don’t fight, I will explain to you our grading system I think he’s right Let’s listen to him
    9. 10.

In line with the thrust of this department to continuously improve the quality of learning outcomes, the lowest passing grade for the minimum performance standard for students in public elementary and secondary schools is set at 75% for SY 2004-2005 and school years thereafter. The lowest failing grade that may appear in the report card is set at 65%.

The same standard shall apply to students in the bridged program.

In assessing learning outcomes, the construction of the test design should consist of

    10. 11.

60% basic items, 30% more advance items, and 10% items for distinguishing honor students. Questions on each category should have different weights. Test and non-test items should cover only materials actually taken up in class

Grading system by subject shall follow the guidelines in Enclosure 1 (in the case of elementary level) and the percentage weights allocated to the test and non-test factors indicated in Enclosure 2. Rubrics, where appropriate, are provided to assess performance in each following components: participation/performance, projects/outputs, assignments, among others

Transmutation tables shall not be used in the computation of grades. Test scores shall be recorded as raw scores, totaled at the end of each grading period and then computed as percentage (i.e., [ student’s score highest possible score] x 100).

    11. 12. The final grade shall be determined by averaging the marks for the four quarters. In the case of secondary level, averaging across quarters shall be by subject only. Promotion of the secondary level shall be by subject. A student shall be retained in the year level if he/she incurs failures of three units or more during the regular school year and is unable to make up for the failed subject during summer sessions. Retained students need to repeat only those subjects that they failed. Previous issuances that are inconsistent with this Order are amended accordingly. Immediate and wide dissemination of this Order is expected.
    12. 14. Honor Students To determine the Top 10 pupils or students, they shall be ranked using the 7-3 scheme (7 points for academic performance-3 points for co-curricular activities) while their grades in the previous curriculum level shall not be considered in the ranking of honors for graduating pupils or students,” Lapus said in the order. “The final rating shall be computed to the three decimal places. In case of a tie, both candidates shall be declared in the same honor ranking like valedictorians, salutatorians or first honorable mentions. The guideline also stipulated that “All candidates for honor must be of good moral character and have not been subjected to any disciplinary actions within the current school year.” At the same time, the revised guideline also gave recognition to achievements of pupils and students in specific subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English or in co-curricular activities such as athletics, performing arts and campus journalism. The guidelines also provide that transferees shall be considered in the ranking of honor students provided they were enrolled in the school not later than the second week of classes in school year 2009-2010.
    13. 15. Transferees previously were not considered for the honors, especially valedictorians. Duly recognized annexes of public elementary and secondary schools with complete curriculum grades or year levels have now been allowed by the education department to choose their own set of honor school children. The DepEd named the school principal as chairman of the School Selection Committee (with three qualified teachers as members) which is required to officially announce the selected honor pupils/students not later than 15 days before the school’s graduation day. It also mandated that any member of the selection committee must not be related within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity to any of the candidate for honor. Lapus said in case of protest, the parent or guardian of the candidate for honor shall file the complaint before the school head, within five days after from the final announcement and the selection committee are mandated to resolve the issue within the same period. 14. 17. Na…na..naruto, I heard there were lots of issues involving DepEd Oh, what are those?! Who can tell me about that?
    15. 18.

Issues on Department of Education:

Why we should add more level in elementary and high school?

---- It is simply because teachers do not have enough time to delivery the whole program in one school year. What the DepEd curriculum writers solution is integrating each topics which leads to the present situation of our public school system.

Don’t worry nine-tailed Kyuubi, here are those issues.
    16. 19.

A need for SciTech Curriculum in every town of the country

-------A total of 57 Special Science Elementary Schools were given financial assistance by the Department of Education to support science curriculum and programs. The strengthened SSES Project has been allocated P26.5M as financial assistance to the project's existing 57 pilot schools and their respective region and division offices. (are these funds used correctly?)

I also know Another one
    17. 20.

(25 October) -- High school students in public schools will soon follow a new secondary education curriculum.

----However, the implementation may still be delayed if the materials for the new curriculum are not yet out of the printing press.

Me too! Daah! I also know that!
    18. 21. The DepEd ICT Curriculum is very late. The latest ICT curriculum was made last 2004 and the basis of this curriculum is still Microsoft Operating System, Microsoft Office, Basic hardware and software with actual or hand on experience, basic web development with little discussion on graphics and basic programming which until 2009 the computer teacher was unable to implement due to lack of programming training and trainors.
    19. 22.

The implementation of the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum was announced in DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2002 , issued on June 17, 2002. But even before that controversial memorandum was issued, the move was questioned .

Little brother, you’re so silent, you didn’t say even a single word
