  • 1.  Use the particle で after a place to show ‘at’ or ‘in’ which something is done.に is used after a place to show something being there, but no verb. せんせいはがっこうにいます。で uses a verb がっこうでべんきょうします。
  • 2.  Use the particles に or へ before a place to show motion towards a place.e.g. 日本へ行きます。OR 日本に行きます。 Ifyou are going to an event or activity then に is always used.e.g. パーティに行きます。
  • 3.  Usethe word から after a place to show motion from a place.e.g. 日本から来ました。e.g. がっこうからでかけました。
  • 4. 1. At the coffee shop I drank coffee and spoke with my friend. きっさてんでコーヒーをのんで、(私の)ともだちとはなしました。2. There is delicious food at the restaurant. レストランにおいしいたべものがあります。3. On Tuesday I will swim at the beach and read a magazine. 火よう日にうみでおいで、ざっしをよみます。4. I left from the playground at 4 and returned home at 5, then had a shower, ate dinner and went to bed.
