I achieved this by designing the exterior to add rustic charm; redesigning the floor plan, moving the rooms they spent the most time in to the front to maximize lake views; all while maintaining the amenities of their previous home.<br />

A two story addition, as well as a renovation of the entire interior space was done. Among the changes were the additions of a Master Suite, Second Floor Laundry, Kitchen/Great Room with a remarkable stone fireplace, and of course the traditional front porch.<br />

The entire floor plan was reworked, and a full two story addition added two more bedrooms and bathrooms. The First Floor now has a Custom Kitchen, Nook, and large Family Room with access to the New Front or Rear Covered Porches.<br />

It features a double sided fireplace separating the Family Room from the Hearth Room and Kitchen; an English Basement with full height windows; a Butler’s Pantry for Dining Room serving; and Linen Cabinets in the Master Bathroom, as well as the Hall Bath.<br />

It features a First Floor Master Bedroom, as well as a Second Floor Guest Suite/Second Master separated from the other bedrooms by a catwalk over the vaulted Great Room. The Great Room, Kitchen, and Full Walkout Basement all offer spectacular lake views.<br />

First and Second Floor Plans<br />Front and Rear Views<br />Custom Home, New Construction<br />McHenry, IL<br />This custom two story home has an all brick exterior with very traditional architectural detailing, such as dentil moldings, arched soldier courses with keystones above the windows, and quoining at all the corners. I worked very closely with the site engineer to position this house on it’s irregular lot to not only meet site requirements, but to achieve a Full Walkout Basement.<br />

It presents old world charm, with all the aspects of new construction; a great flow and interaction between spaces; and meshes well with the existing neighborhood.<br />

A mix of stucco and fieldstone on the exterior and details like arched windows and shutters, dropped roof lines and dormers all give this home a timeless quality. However, the floor plans offer every convenience of modern day living.<br />

From the Family Room with a wood coffered ceiling, to the large Butler’s Pantry with Wet Bar, and Master Suite fireplace, this home has great style and charm. The oversized windows in the Breakfast Nook bay, and Master Bathroom above, offer sweeping views of this prime golf course location. <br />

Once inside, you will find a very modern finish to the traditional floor plan. Soft lines and curves dominant as found in the circular Kitchen and suspended fireplace in the Family Room. The double-loaded, round staircase in the Main Foyer is unequivocally the master piece in this home. <br />

I created the Master Plan based on several previous designs; determining what plan options were available for each site, plan or reverse plan based on lot restrictions and pre-determined driveway locations.<br />

These vacation homes are designed for pre-manufactured kits to be located on coastal areas.<br />

First and foremost, a new Front Entry was designed to make the existing sanctuary handicap accessible. To accommodate a growing congregation and expanding services, a Nursery/Daycare, Conference Room, accessible Bathrooms, and a Warming Kitchen and Fellowship Hall that can seat up to 160 people were added. <br />

Front Views (Before & After)<br />Floor Plans<br />Martini & Wine Lounge Build-out<br />Richmond, IL<br />This project was a very special one; I worked very closely with the Owner on every aspect of this Build-out, from the construction drawings to the Opening Night Celebration. This extremely rough space was transformed into a 1940’s Period Martini Lounge. All the furnishings were custom designed and fabricated including the built-in seating, stage, and the showpiece bar.<br />

Tentative budgets for build out costs and FF&E were used against anticipated income determined from occupancy levels to establish overall profitability. Occupancy levels were calculated in a Lounge setting that may transition into larger numbers with a Restaurant. <br />

I achieved this by keeping the finishes durable yet stylish; creating a subtle backdrop of rich tones and refined details such as glazed wood finishes, granite countertops, and faux alabaster and glass light fixtures. <br />
