      • Our self image affects the way we look and the way we behave
      “ As a man thinks in his heart so he is” (Proverbs 23.7)

      • To discover your self image
      • To increase your self awareness
      • To encourage self acceptance

      • formed?

      • We ask ourselves 3 questions
      • How do I look? (Appearance)
      • How am I doing? (Performance)
      • How important am I? (Importance)
      If we get a positive answer to these questions We will have a positive self image

      • How do I look to others?
      • We form opinions of ourselves
      • based on how others see us.
      • People spend money on clothes,
      • cosmetics, beauty aides, cosmetic
      • surgery, dieting, weight watching, body
      • building etc

      • How am I doing?
      • We form opinions of ourselves
      • based on how we compare to
      • others, and our successes & failures
      • We have to ‘prove’ our worth by
      • becoming performance orientated

      • How important am I to others?
      • How important am I to self?
      • How important am I to God?
      • This is related to our status. We try
      • To get into a position of power –
      • Then we feel better about ourselves
      • And accepted by others

      • Need to Feel Loved & Accepted
      • (A sense of Belonging)
      • 2. Need to Feel Valued & Acceptable
      • (A sense of Worthiness)
      • 3. Need to Feel Adequate
