  • 3. Overview of the Florida Society of Nephrology The Florida Society of Nephrology is a statewide organization of physicians who care for patients with renal disease. Established in 1966 to represent the interests of physicians and their patients, FSN is active in many areas affecting the treatment of renal disease. The Society represents Nephrologists in the state of Florida. Purpose of the FSN To ensure optimal care for patients with renal disease. To represent the interests of Florida Nephrologists and their patients with the Medicare Part B Carrier and the State Medicaid Agency about reimbursement policies, documentation policies and requirements, and the trends in reimbursement. To advise key state and national government officials and other important decision makers in the private sector on health care policy developments and implementation which may affect the practice of Florida Nephrologists and the care of their patients.
