RightScale Conference NYC 2012 -- Sizing, Building, and Scaling a Hybrid Cloud

Jeff Dickey, Chief Cloud Architect, Redapt

The decision about whether to invest in hybrid used to haunt you only when you shopped for cars. Suddenly the question of hybrid has made its way into your IT. In this session, we'll explore the benefits of a hybrid cloud and help you decide if and when to take the leap. We'll overview how to create a hybrid cloud that can accommodate legacy applications while providing flexibility for future architectures and applications, providing specific use cases and examples. Other topics include securing and segregating data, elastic demand, and accommodating mixed workloads on bare metal and hypervisors, as well as how to reduce data center waste while increasing application to hardware efficiency. We'll touch on how RightScale can be used to jump-start a hybrid cloud solution, and we'll close with some ideas about what's next in cloud computing.
