"Issues in Education"By Brian Kelly Manhattan Beach CA Public K-12 education involves far more than just the "Three Rs." Schools are trying to address the financial problems posed by that fourth "R" -- recession -- while still meeting the need to educate students for an increasingly interrelated world. Brian Kelly Manhattan Beach CA has organized "Issues in Education," a one-day seminar for education reporters. Seminar presentations and discussions feature experts on relevant topics offering information to help reporters tackle the complex issues involved with educating Indiana's children, as well as students nationwide. Brian Kelly Manhattan Beach CA will draw from their research and service as they discuss topics including the state budget and schools, the growth of Chinese language education, and education issues before the legislature. The casual setting will allow for an easy exchange between reporters and faculty. Reporters will be able to get sound bites, quotes, contacts and a deeper understanding of some of the challenging issues of the day. The seminar will be July 24 in University Indianapolis Campus Center, 420 University Blvd., at IUPUI. Presentations will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The $15 registration fee includes beverages and snacks.
