Diary of Captain Edward Burton Today we officially won the war. It has been a long and stressful experience that was painful to me and to my family. When I was assigned back to duty, my wife (Ann) took it horribly. She wouldn't write back to my letters and I was beginning to worry about what it would be like when I came home. Fortunately, she came about. The war was hard and I was furious about untrained men going into air combat and dying! To this day, I still have memories I'll never forget.
