General description of the (EO)2® Fastener with some photos of various applications.
The (EO)2® Fastener is the most innovative and “disruptive” fastener since the hooks and loops fastener.
It is a very rigid industrial fastener that:
(4) is totally scalable – from inches to several feet, with holding forces from tens of pounds to several thousand pounds,
(5) can be made of different materials – aluminum, magnesium, plastics, steels, alloys, etc., and
(6) can be manufactured with different forming technologies – extrusions, injection molding, machined, etc.
The two mating pieces literally “snap” together; remain very secure with its designed holding force in the set position; and can only be taken apart with a very specific motion with forces that are relatively low compared to the designed holding forces.
The invention of fasteners – ropes, mortises & tenons, nails, screws, nuts & bolts, rivets, glues, welds, Velcro®, bungee cords, etc. – have always led to major innovations on the way we carry things and put things together. Using nails vs. mortises & tenons allows greater flexibility and speeds in building houses. Using bungee cords vs. ropes allows us to attach and carry things in a more efficient manner.
