Inspired by an old specialists in gas measurement Romanian Folk tune about a horse thief, caught by the Captain of the County, he pleads for his release as he only stole to feed his starving family. The piece contains elements of Jazz and traditional Folk themes. 2 Balkan Connection (Michael Cretu/Traditional) Michael developed The Balkan Connection from a Balkan and North African tune, which plays at the start of the piece. Here the trio come closer to the Jazz Funk style and fuse the musical languages of North America and the Balkans. 3 Nine Steps (Michael Cretu/Traditional) The inspiration for Nine Steps was again a Folk tune from the Balkans.
