2. I believe that the audience feedback that I
received during my project has been contributory
in helping sculpt my products to mirror real media
texts as I feel that the feedback given was
thorough enough for me make considerable
changes to my products after sharing our first
drafts with audiences and produce products to
that of a professional standard.
3. First steps
The first thing that I knew I had to gain feedback for was
what a potential target audience could be. To do this, I
asked students from around our school what type of music
they were most interested – and of course most responded
with bands like Two Door Cinema Club and The 1975. What
this meant is that I had to rethink my whole project as I was
originally considering producing a Hip Hop music video. As
I had let the audience be the judge, so to speak, this was
the first way in which my target audience was able to have
some sort of say in the production of my video.
4. Identifying issues
After releasing our first draft of the music video, we got overall positive
feedback for the video, however I think it was because most people
were shocked a our ability to produce something half decent for our
first try. Although there were a lot of positives to take from our
feedback, there were a few identifiable problems with our narrative
that seemed to catch people out and made them overcomplicate
what the video was about rather than our video screaming the genre
and storyline at the audience.

6. With the problems of our music video identified, we were
able to rethink our strategy as a group and come up with
new shots that we could film to replace some of the shots
that confused our audience and make the storyline clearer
for people to understand in general. By taking on board
the criticisms given to us by our target audience we were
able to look at the positives and reinforce these by only
making the video what we believe to be even better and
look more professional than amateur.
7. What I have Learned
What I feel that I have learned is that, overall, audience feedback
plays a massive part in producing a product of professional quality and
that audience feedback is the most reliable, unbiased source of
contribution towards making improvements and contributing to final
pieces of work.
