    4. Activity 1
      • Log into the course: Educamp ’09 - Innovative Collaborative Group Work at https://training.vista.ubc.ca . Use a given ID and password.
      • Post your introduction into the forum (2-5 minutes)
      • Tell us:
        • your role
        • your Faculty/Department
        • “ Working in group helps...” (write only one thing)
      • Select a “summarizer”
      • Select a “writer”

      • The summarizer will post a summary of the group ideas of what working in groups helps... (3 minutes)
      • The writer will use a wiki to let us know who is in your group (3 minutes)
      • while those two are working hard, you will...

      • Use the google map to show us
          • Where you are from/you live
            • (use the blue marker)
          • Your favourite place
            • (use the red marker)
          • Use your google account to sign in

      • Why will you do a group work?
      • Think of a situation where you will use a group work. What kind of a project will that be?
      • Write down your pros/cons for using a group work (5 minutes)
      • Discuss your thoughts with your group members (5 minutes)
      • A “presenter” will report on your findings (1 minutes) - select only one reason/situation for using group work

      • What will you use for online group work
      • Write down your thoughts: (5 minutes)
          • What kind of tools would you use? Why?
          • What kind of tools would you not use? Why?
      • (use generic terms, not specific company, e.g. wiki, not PB Wiki, or Wikispaces)
      • Present this to the group and vote on your group favourite tool (5 min)
      • Select a “reporter”
      • The reporter will tell the whole class the group’s top choice and explain it’s rationale (post to a blog) (5 min)

      • Find the website of your favourite tool and save it on “delicious” (at least one)
