  • If not a watch, then what?Head-worn displays for augmented reality. The first Project Glass prototype resembles a pair of normaleyeglasses where one lens is replaced by a heads-up display. The intended purpose could be thehands free displaying of information currently available to most smartphone users, and allowing forinteraction with the Internet via natural language voice commands. The New York Times reported thatthe glasses would be available to the public for "around the cost of current smartphones" by the end of2012.
