  • Reefs providehome and shelter to over 25% offish in the ocean.
  • Coral reefs alsoprovide economicservices such as jobs, food, and tourism
  • THE PROBLEM Climate change causes coral bleaching which destroys coral reefs
  • Reefs take hundreds of years to recover from the effects of coral bleaching
  • SOLUTION NOAA, EPA, and the state of Florida have joined together to create the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
  • Reefs will survive longer when theyare considered part of a larger system
