  • This summer's Blackboard upgrade will take place between 9am on Tuesday 26th July and 1pm on Monday 1st August. A read-only replacement service will be available over this period. The upgrade to version 9.1 will add new features, enhance existing functionality and fix bugs and issues. Additional work will also be carried out to improve automated archiving and the course rollover process
  • The purpose of this session is:To give you an overview of the key new and enhanced featuresTo provide an opportunity for questionsFor each example we will provide an overview followed by a demonstration. Please ask questions at any time.

    Summer upgrade to version 9.1 between 9.00am Tues 26th July and 1.00pm Mon 1st August.

    Getting files into your content area is simple - just drag them across from your "My Documents".

  • 14. New menus to add content and activities
    The menus have changed
    In 9.1 they are “Build content”, “Create assessment” and “Add interactive tool”
    The “Create item” button has moved and is now under “Build Content”

  • 16. New content types
    It is easier to add a variety of content types, for example YouTube videos and Flickr photos
  • 17. Wiki and blog options
    9.1 has Blackboard wiki and blog options
    Blackboard's vs "Learning Objects“
    The different options offer slightly varying functionality e.g. Learning Objects blogs can provide an RSS and export function
  • 18. Archive and Rollover
    • This year improvements are being made to archiving and course rollover.
    • 19. Students will be able to have access to archived versions of unit courses from their past year of study.
    • 20. New unit courses contain content and staff but last years students are removed
