  • 2. Why are Events Important? Public events are the core of your organization Without socializing, your group is just a newsletter and idea Mastering the art of hosting events will help with attracting new members and keeping existing members engaged
  • 3. Analyze Your Past EventsReview previous meetings for ideasand improvementsQuestions to ask: What events have you held in the past that worked and attracted the most attendance? What were the events with high attendance, high revenue, posi-tive feedback, and high amounts of chatter and excitement? What was it about that event that seemed to work so well?
  • 4. Coming Up With Event Ideas Have a theme for your meeting Brainstorm ideas for your theme What are the hot topics in your industry right now? Workshop/Seminar – What skills would your membership like to gain? What type of hobbies or other interests does you membership have, and how can you incorporate that into events? (ex: golf, wine, or attending a sporting event) Ask members for their input on topics or themes they are interested in. (Try conducting a membership survey to gather their ideas.)
  • 5. Planning Your Meetings – Pay Attention to Details Hold the meetings on a schedule, ex. second Tuesday each month Make it easy for attendees to register to attend Provide name tags Allow time for networking Incorporate food and prizes if possible (consider having a member’s business sponsor)
