  • 2. how is the layout effective and eye catching? • The layout is quite effective because of the dominating and bright colours used. • It catches the readers eye right away. • The text is placed on the left hand side which neatens up the layout yet it is still appealing because it complements the serene image with the plants and water.
  • 3. style of graphics/ photo manipulation• The colours have definitely been manipulated in the photograph.• They have been enhanced to appear very bright and eye- catching • On the left side of the page the colours appear lighter. • Then on the right they seem much more vibrant.
  • 4. organisation of information• The first thing visible on the layout is the image.• This is due to the bright background of the sky.• The red title stands out next.• Red is a bright eye-catching colour and it draws the reader in to the article which is below.
  • 5. layout design • Big title in the background of the images reads USA, which suggests the article will be about her growing fame in the States. • The actual text/article paragraphs are placed in the bottom right hand corner of the double page spread so that they do not take away from the image, which is what initially draws the reader in by catching their attention.• The image of Florence takes up the whole of the left hand side of the double page spread.
  • 6. how is the layout effective and eye catching? • The layout is effective because the text does not take away attention from the image, yet it is still readable and the whole design is appealing to look at.
  • 7. style of graphics/photo manipulation • The colours have definitely been manipulated in the photograph. • They have been enhanced to appear very bright and eye-catching
  • 8. organisation of information 1. As the image takes up the whole of the left page and some of the right it is the first thing the reader considers. 2. A large title illustrates to the reader that, that is the title, this also it the second item the reader is drawn to after the image. 3. The subheading is in a smaller font to the title, in order to show it’s a subtitle and not part of the main title or the actual article.4. Finally the actual article is the last thing the reader is drawn to.
  • 9. layout design• The image of Amy Winehouse on the bed takes up the whole page, with the text layered over the top.
  • 10. how is the layout effective and eye catching?• The layout is effective because the image covers the whole double page spread however the text is still readable and nicely placed within the layout.• By having Amy cover a majority of the right hand side, this makes the spread more interesting to look at rather than the conventional way of having the image in the centre.• This therefore catches the readers attention and draws them to read the article.
  • 11. style of graphics/ photo manipulation• The photo colour has been changed to black and white to give it a vintage affects because of the signer’s musical style.• The photo has also been manipulated to have a grainy effect making the image look old thus reflecting on the ‘vintage’ vibe of the singer and article.
  • 12. organisation of information1. As the image takes up the whole two pages it is the first thing the reader considers.2. A large title illustrates to the reader that, that is the title, this also it the second item the reader is drawn to after the image. 4. Finally the actual article is the last thing the reader is drawn to. 3. The subheading is in a smaller font to the title, in order to show it’s a subtitle and not part of the main title or the actual article.
