    • In a tough Republican year, in a “blue” state, Rep. Kline faced a challenging re-election campaign. The campaign hired Revere Strategy Group (RSG) to bolster its e-campaign.
    • Results:
    • Created the StopthePork.com campaign designed
    • around Rep. Kline’s poll-tested opposition to
    • Congressional “pork” earmarks
    • Doubled email database by recruiting more than
    • 7,000 new online activists
    • Successfully utilized issue to drive earned media and blog outreach
    • Built campaign paid media around “Stop the Pork” theme
    • Kline wins re-election by largest margin ever in poor Republican year
  • 7. illinois chamber of commerce
    • Facing the possibility of the “Obama effect” in Illinois, in which pro-business legislators might be swept out of office, the Illinois Chamber called upon RSG to provide targeted e-strategy and public opinion research services to its endorsed candidates.
    • Results:
    • Built demographically targeted email lists for more
    • than 4 state legislators – all of whom were re-elected
    • Conducted targeted e-advocacy campaigns for
    • two incumbents in tough districts – both of whom were re-elected
    • RSG helped the Illinois Chamber “hold the line” and lose only one seat
    • statewide

    • The United Republican Fund hired RSG to head the e-advocacy effort for it’s “8 in 08” program of targeted support for eight endorsed state legislative candidates.
    • Results:
    • Launched Eightin08.com – a site which garnered
    • more than 10,000 visitors in less than four weeks
    • Built a statewide online database of more than 50,000 voters
    • Conducted statewide e-advocacy designed to raise awareness of the
    • candidates, raise money online, and recruit online activists
    • In an otherwise dismal year for Illinois Republican candidates, we helped
    • the URF elect two new Republicans to office and protected two vital
    • incumbent state senators

    • The United Republican Fund hired RSG to launched ProtectFairness.com – a national online campaign to oppose the restoration of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.”
    • Results:
    • Garnered 4,000 online petition
    • signers in first two weeks
    • Deployed more than 50,000 emails in four targeted Congressional
    • districts
    • Online ads deliver more than 1.5 million impressions nationwide
    • Building social media network on Twitter and Facebook (garnered
    • 1,500 Facebook group members in first two weeks)

    • Mywireless.org hired Revere Strategy Group in the weeks leading up to Election Day to build a Facebook presence
    • Results:
    • Demographically targeted Facebook group
    • to residents of Prince George’s County, MD
    • Deployed more than 1,000 Facebook messages
    • Ad buy was cost-effective: less than $35 a day and garnered about
    • 2,000 page views by local residents
    • Historic win – 1st ballot measure for school funding that failed in
    • decades
    • Anti-tax victory in a county that voted more than 70% Obama

    • Revere continued our program of online communications, reputation management and public relations for this national health care corporation.
    • Results:
    • Continued to manage and build the company’s
    • online presence – including managing the company’s blog and Web site –
    • and an aggressive Search Engine Optimization effort.
    • Launched a new industry news source – Orthonewsline.com – to build an
    • online community within the orthodontic industry and market the
    • company’s experts and services.
    • Generated positive earned media (print and online) for the company’s
    • significant community relations program.

  • 13. who we are: curt mercadante Curt Mercadante is a principal of Revere Strategy Group, LLC. He is a seasoned strategic communications and public affairs professional who has directed a variety of projects spanning the fields of politics and corporate communications. In addition to serving as director of political and state affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform, Curt has worked on Capitol Hill, managed communications for numerous political campaigns, directed communications for a national agribusiness trade association, and served as an executive with a Chicago-based public affairs firm.
  • 14. who we are: randy skoglund Randy Skoglund is a principal of Revere Strategy Group, LLC. He has been at the intersection of communications, business and public affairs for more than a decade. In addition to serving as vice president and executive director for the National Chamber Foundation, Randy has directed strategic communications and media for a number of political and issue advocacy campaigns. He also oversaw the communications plan for the state of Minnesota during the 1997 flood crisis, where he directed the response for more than 20 state agencies.
