  • 2. Event description
    • Save the date!
      • October 24 th , at the Romanian Athenaeum, 18:00 o’clock in the evening
    • Star artists in support of young talents
      • The famous violinist Remus Azoitei , accompanied by the Romanian “George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra and the exceptional conductor Christian Badea offer remarkable moments of music
      • Charitable purpose
      • The funds raised from private sponsorship and tickets selling will support the “Young Talents” project of the Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation.
      • The project offers scholarships, mentorship and launches young artists, who lack the financial means to develop their talent.
  • 3. Remus Azoitei
    • Described in The Strad as "an uninhibited virtuoso, with soul and fabulous technique", the Romanian-born violinist Remus Azoitei graduated from the Juilliard School in New York in 2001, and has since been a featured soloist of prestigious European ensembles including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Belgique and Deutsche Kammer Orchester. He has performed concertos under conductors such as Lawrence Foster, Dimitri Kitaenko, Michael Sanderling, and Gabriel Chmura.
    • In 2001, Remus Azoitei was appointed violin professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, becoming the youngest ever violin professor in the history of this institution. He is the Artistic Director of the Enescu Society in London, also being one of its founding members. He lives in London, and performs on a violin made by Niccolo Gagliano in 1735, from the Royal Academy of Music's collection .
  • 4. Remus Azoitei
    • "Azoitei has all the requirements: marked sensitivity, a sweetness of tone (but not over-succulence), an impressive emotional and dynamic range" The Strad , May 2007
    • "It often seemed as if Azoitei was exploring every facet of tone that could be drawn from the Academy's Maurin Stradivari, as he ranged across the strings with fire and accuracy. It was exciting but always within the bounds of concert-hall good manners." The Strad, December 2008
    • "Violinist Remus Azoitei identifies completely with the music. He surmounts the music's technical challenges with such ease you forget they are there and focus on the music's eloquent magic" Classical Source , May 2009
  • 5. Romanian Philharmonic “George Enescu” Orchestra
    • Founded in 1868, The Romanian Philharmonic Society later became the "George Enescu" Philharmonic, the most famous musical institution in Romania.
    • When the Palace of the Romanian Athenaeum was inaugurated, on the 5th of March 1889, concerts began to be held in this hall and the Romanian Athenaeum became the headquarters of the Philharmonic and at the same time a symbol of Bucharest.
  • 6. Christian Badea
    • Conductor Christian Badea has received exceptional acclaim throughout his career, encompassing prestigious engagements in the foremost concert halls and opera houses of Europe, North America, and Asia
    • Grammy laureate, Badea conducted such symphony orchestras as «BBC» and «Beethovenhalle», performed at Covent Garden and the Vienna Opera, gave more than 160 performances at the Metropolitan Opera, has worked with Placido Domingo and Renee Fleming, Yo-Yo Ma and Midori.
    • “ Christian Badea’s conducting combines restrained passion with an exceptional feel for the subtleties of Puccini’s orchestration. The best of it is extremely moving.” The Guardian
