  26. what is the point? information happens all the time      PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  27. we need to provide a context, a place, and make it useful and  meaningful     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  28. 2. think of animals a seal, a donkey, an elephant, two dogs, a skunk, a penguin, two other  small seals, a platypus, a sheep     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010

  32. almost     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  33. but anyway     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  34. that's it right?     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010

  39. 3. think of a common task say you want to write a message     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  40. is this writing a message?     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010

  44. is this writing a message?     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  45. and is this?     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  46. same task, different interfaces     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  47. media and messages does how the message is delivered to you really matter?     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  48. on twitter     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010

  51. messages have no medium     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  52. interfaces and interactions differ     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  53. wildly     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  54. voice interfaces     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  55. magic interfaces     SPHERE PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  56. gesture interfaces     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  57. scifi interfaces     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  58. (yes, sure)     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  59. but tasks span interfaces and merge into complex activities     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  60. and activities bridge contexts and environments:  physical, digital, augmented     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  61. artifacts become processes we have to move away from the design of artifacts and web  sites to design processes     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  62. products become experiences we have to move from the design of products to the design of experiences     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  63. we design the IA we do not design interfaces we do not design single interactions we design crossmedia experiences     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  64. we do not design this c c     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  65. we design processes     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  66. we design this     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  67. IA as ubiquitous ecologies products become services or platforms parts of ubiquitous ecologies     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  68. as information moves to physical spaces IA is used to design the entire range  of shared informational spaces, places,  services, and processes     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  69. we design this     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  70. we design this     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  71. we design this     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  72. we design this     PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
  73. IA becomes the connector between different media and different contexts
  74. IA provides experiential continuity to products and services
  75.   1 information architectures become  ecosystems
  76. no artifact stands isolated. all artifacts are connected and related and have to be designed as part of one seamless user experience process
  77.   2 users become intermediaries
  78. participants in these ecosystems  actively produce and remediate  content and meaning
  79.   3 static becomes dynamic
  80. intermediaries makes them perpetually  unfinished, perpetually changing, and  perpetually open to further refinement and  manipulation
  81.   4 dynamic becomes hybrid
  82. the boundaries separating  media and genres get thinner all experiences become crossmedia bridgeexperiences  across different environments
  83.   5horizontal prevails over vertical
  84. intermediaries push towards spontaneity,  ephemeral structures of meaning, and constant change correlation becomes predominant
  85.   6  product design becomes experience design
  86. focus shifts  from how to design single items to  how to design experiences  spanning processes
  87.   7experiences become crossmedia experiences
  88. experiences bridge multiple connected media and environments into unitarian ubiquitous ecologies
  89. IA is in the process IA is everywhere
  90. cyberspace is here “cyberspace is not a place you go to but rather a layer tightly integrated into  the world around us”   (INSTITUTE FOR THE FUTURE)   PERVASIVE :: POLISH IA SUMMIT 2010
