Between 2006-2008 in Ethiopia: 1) Expenditures on nutrition nearly doubled between 2006-2007 and reached their highest level in 2008, driven mainly by social protection and water, sanitation, and hygiene programs becoming more nutrition-sensitive. 2) Routine tracking of multi-sectoral nutrition funding is essential for national planning and priority setting to monitor progress on nutrition goals. 3) Information on nutrition funding across sectors like health, agriculture, education, social protection, and water can help inform decisions to scale effective interventions and enhance support for nutrition.
