With panic attacks, determining the cause of one has usually been rather troublesome. Panic as a
form of anxiousness is a natural human reply, as it is with other living things, and we each have
our own methods of expressing it, and working with it.
The severity of a panic attack is routinely set by our environment and state of mind at the time of
the assault, and of course the primary stimuli that caused the assault. Panic and hysteria can
become a difficulty when they manifest themselves for no obvious reason in the slightest.
Panic is a natural human reaction to a fear or understood threat. Scientists over time have labeled
this short term attack at a fight-flight reply as a result of the general reaction from the victim to
either "fight the fear (fight) or leave from the danger (flight).
This gives reason to believe the first reason or purpose of the assault is to guard ourselves. If we
disobey a little and go back in time to when humans were primitive creatures, it was fully important
to have this mechanism prepared as the risks around us were great, they'd often be the cause of
panic attacks.
A fast reply of panic, generally acquired with an instant reaction, causing an action that would
remove us from that danger. The same may be said of the human today.
Imagine for a second that you are standing in the middle of a train line track and you hear the
sound of a moving train! Your immediate response would be to look up (extraordinarily quickly) in
the direction of the horn, and if you saw the train was bearing down on you, your reaction would be
panic, hopefully sparking an action to leap off the train tracks.
If you didn't at first panic, you would likely be finished. This fight-flight reply has in reality protected
you, not hurt you, so in a sense panic and nervousness could be a favorable natural thing, relying
on the circumstances. Panic is understood to manifest itself through three natural systems.
The first of these is the psychological system. This is the number one effect of the fight-flight reply
mechanism. It alerts us to imminent danger and enables us to scan the environment for that
danger, and to keep an eye peeled for the potential threat.
It's a psychological state that may be distracting, and often folk will think about how this reaction in
a state of agitation, can fully distract them from daily responsibilities. Memory may also be a
difficulty in this state.
The second system is the physical system, whereby nearly your complete body is taken control of
by this panic or hysteria.
When your psychological system has discerned that there's a potential threat in the area, your
2. cortex sends an automated reply through your nervous system to nearly every corner of your
body, in preparation of the fight-flight reply. This is what we first notice as the cause of panic
attacks.
There's an instant reaction from the eyes, the heart, lungs, pancreas, and some major glands and
of course the brain. Your heart system hits overdrive, together with the kidney's and your bladder.
Metabolism is increased, and a fantastic amount of sugars and trans-acids get released into your
blood stream.
These are the symptoms and particularly the cardio symptoms that often lead folk to believe they
are having a stroke, a heart attack, or in the worst cases, even dying.
The third system is the behavioral system. The previous two systems have prepared you for the
fight-flight response, and the action to either run or attack. This answers why in most situations,
the sensation you get is an overpowering feeling of aggression and a need to escape the situation.
If these aren't possible the need can become obvious and can be transferred into behavior
patterns like foot drumming, nail biting, or aggression towards others. Overall, these are often
ideas, and no-one actually has the answers as to the cause of panic attacks. We keep on learning.
