  • About Remy Sharp is a developer, author, speaker and blogger. Remy started in web development 10 years ago as the sole developer for a finance web site, and as such, was exposed to all aspects running the web site during, and long after, the dotcom boom. Today he runs his own Brighton based development company called Left Logic, coding and writing about JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, PHP, Perl and anything else he can get his hands on.

    @mathias - absolutely right. I quickly added that slide last minute and I did have a gut feeling that .attr('href') was the source value of the markup, rather than the DOM. The real examples I see they don't care whether it's relative or absolute, and often it's used to get the hash out - which should just be this.hash. Thanks for the comment though - I'll update my future slides (/if/ I do this deck again... :) - cheers.

    @mathais - nope, none. I wouldn't personally force the user to reload, I would suggest they should. Equally, I can't get out of the habit of doing window.location.foo over location.foo - old dogs an' all :)
