Hello,
Greetings from RE/MAX Metro...!!!
First of all we would like to wish all 10th and 12th students a big Congrat-
ulations on getting good results and wish them all the success in future. I
am sure you all must have had a good time with family on holiday breaks
and now kids would be getting ready to get back to school and we wish
them all the best for New Year. Summer is getting very hot and we advise
all to stay indoors in afternoon and drink as much liquid you can to avoid
dehydration.
We at RE/MAX Metro had a good month of May where we sold 2 Apart-
ments and 2 Commercial Properties; we have seen that in this market
resale property in a good society are selling easily. If you market your
property at right price then there are many buyers in this market to buy
it. Markets have gone stagnant and this is the right time for end users to
buy home for them as they can negotiate a good price with the builders.
According to Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) All-India Residential Property
Price Index, in the past 19 quarters, the housing market has witnessed an
upward trend in prices. It was released with the survey, Recent Trends in
Residential Property Prices in India:An exploration using housing loan data.
The realty index showed a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of
10.5% between the first quarter of 2010-11 and third quarter of 2014-15,
at an all-India level.
Let’s hope we get good rains this year which will not only help improve
the economy but also help farmers to grow their crop, rains will be helpful
in reducing this heat which has already taken life of many people in differ-
ent cities of India.

6. 14% SERVICE TAX RATES FROM 1/6/15 & CHANGES IN CESS

14% Service Tax w.e.f 01.06.2015
Section 66B of the Finance Act, 1994, prescribes the service tax rate. It has been amended by Section 108 of
the Finance Act, 2015. The rate of Service Tax is being increased from 12% to 14% (including cesses). The
increase in Service Tax rate will come into effect from 1st June, 2015.
No Education Cess & SHE Cess from
01.06.2015
Sections 153 and 159 of the Finance Act, 2015 provide that section 95 of the Finance (No.2) Act, 2004 and
section 140 of the Finance Act, 2007, levying Education Cess and Secondary and Higher Education Cess, respec-
tively, on taxable services, shall cease to have effect from a date to be notified by the Central Government. The
above provisions levying Education Cess and Secondary and Higher Education Cess should also cease to have
effect from 1st June, 2015. (Notification No.14/2015-Service Tax, dated 19th May, 2015 refers), that is the date
with effect from which the increase in the Service Tax rate comes into effect.
Swachh Bharat Cess not yet notified
An enabling provision has been incorporated in the Finance Act, 2015 vide section 117 (Chapter VI) to impose
a Swachh Bharat Cess on all or any of the taxable services at a rate of 2% or lower on the value of such
taxable services. This cess shall be levied on such services at such rate from such date as may be notified by
the Central Government. The date from which this amendment would come into effect will be notified in due
course.
In other words date from which Swachh Bharat Cess will be effective is not yet been notified.

7. SUNIL D’SOUZA APPOINTED AS MD OF WHIRLPOOL INDIA

Whirlpool of India Ltd on Monday named Sunil D’Sou-
za as its managing director effective 22 June. D’Souza
joins Whirlpool. Prior to this appointment, he was the
Head of PepsiCo’s VIMAPS Business Unit located in
Malaysia. He has been with PepsiCo for about 15
years, holding various senior management positions in
Malaysia, the Philippines,Vietnam and India.
He has rich and diverse experience across general
management, strategy, sales, marketing and innovation
in consumer-driven industries, coupled with his proven
track record in leading and growing large businesses,
makes him highly suited to lead Whirlpool India,” said
Arvind Uppal, president Asia Pacific,Whirlpool Corpo-
ration.
Uppal is also chairman and managing director,Whirl-
pool India. He will continue as executive chairman of
the board of directors at Whirlpool India.

8. MARKET SENTIMENTS PICKING UP IN GUJARAT
REALTY BITES

Facts speak for themselves. The state government's income from the stamp duty and registration fee is increasingly scaling
up and had actually gone up in 2013, even when the year had not gone so well for the sector due to many factors.
The average monthly collection in 2013 as compared to 2012 was much higher and the trend is believed to continue.
Some of the analysts tracking the Gujarat property market maintain that the investors and buyers have started investing
again in the state as they feel that the market rate will increase soon after Lok Sabha elections, so 'now' is the right
time. There is a realisation in the Gujarat real estate market that after the elections, many such housing schemes would
come in near future. Already Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA)
and Gujarat Housing Board (GHB) have received a good response from the prospective buyers. This has made the develop-
ers extra-cautious.
Manan Choksi, regional director, RE/MAX MGM, seems to agree with the premise. He says, "Gujarat realty market is looking
up with healthy transactions. Also, healthy stock market is another driving force. Overall, Gujarat property market has
just picked up at the right time." He adds, "Yes, we can give credit to clean image and progressive policies of the state
government for this positivity in the market. People are bullish about business in Gujarat. It is the market sentiments
and progressive policies that are driving the Gujarat real estate and not the discounts and freebies."
Real estate, after all, is a game of sentiments and more than economic outlook, interest rates and discounts and freebies,
what brings the buyers to the market is a kind of positive sentiment that may or may not have a direct bearing with
the basic fundamentals of the market. As of now, these sentiments are bullish. This also indicates the resilience of the
Gujarat property market. Once the basic fundamentals are in place post the general elections, this positive buyers'
sentiments may take Gujarat real estate to a new high. After all, the sentiments have started picking up at the right
time. So, in Gujarat property market, it is like take it right now or leave it to repent later."
The sentiments in the property market may have been subdued across the country
and the transactions have nosedived in most of the major markets, however, Gujarat
real estate seems to be picking up and the sentiments are changing for the better.
This is reflective in the transactions that are happening across the state. If the state
government's revenue figure is any indication, then the property transaction rate has
picked up and is better than the national average. It seems that the right property
in the right market at the right price point is doing brisk business in Gujarat.

entists are warning that rampant
use of the RO technology could
pose a serious threat to public
health.
Is The RO Filter System A Threat To Public Health?
One of the most popular water purifying technol-
ogies in India, the RO process is efficient in terms
of filtering out toxic substances like arsenic and
fluoride, especially in areas where groundwater is
heavily contaminated.
Simultaneously, though, RO systems, at both
household and industrial levels plough back
concentrated amounts of these substances back
into the aquifers.
The arsenic and fluoride-laden waste water generated by RO systems could have "adverse consequences" for human
and animal health after it is dumped back into the groundwater aquifers, he told IANS. This could affect the popula-
tion in the surrounding area which is dependent on this water source.

10. CHARITY WORK

One good day our broker associate Mr. Premal Jhaveri read in A’bad Mirror, that this year Ahmedabad Police
Department will not be able to arrange a jug service to traffic policemen due to shortage of water in the city.
So RE/MAX Metro’s some of the broker associate had arranged an event called “Service To Man Is Service To
God” by distributing chilled water bottles to traffic policemen standing wholeday and managing the traffic for
we Ahmedawadis, where this summer temperature shoot up more than 46 degree celcius.
