DAVID GAUNTLETT Web 2.0 has created a more democratic media. We are all inherently creative, “making is connecting.” The dominance of media institutions is being challenged. We live in the age of the prosumer. Removal of gatekeepers will open up the media to greater democracy and foster creativity that otherwise would not have been accesible.

ANDREW KEEN Web 2.0 has created cultural chaos. Creates a “cult of the amateur” which devalues the professional. Expertise is devalued. Internet Oligarchs are replacing Old Media Oligarchs. Removal of gatekeepers will devalue genuine talent and expertise. “Those who shout loudest will be heard most”
