  3. 3. Internal Conflict A conflict within (internal) the mind of a character.Charlie is experiencing internal conflict. Should he give the money he found to the police or
  4. 4. External ConflictA conflict between a character and outside force; may be caused by a difference in ideas or personalities.The automobile crash created an external conflict between the two drivers.
  5. 5. Man vs. SelfA conflict within the mind of a character . Carl struggled with himself as he decided if he should play a game or do his homework.
  6. 6. Man vs. ManA conflict that takes place between two characters.The two boxers fought against each other in a man versus man competition.
