  3. 3. This research showed a disconnect between a patient’s satisfaction with their treatment and their dentists understanding of their concerns…. • 86% of patients rated their visit as ‘satisfactory’ • Among the 726 patients who were dissatisfied, dentists were only aware of these feelings in 1% of the cases
  4. 4. Fear the dentist? You’re not alone… In a survey of 7312 Australian residents, aged five years and over, from all over Australia, the prevalence of high dental fear in the entire sample was 16.1%.
  5. 5. There are many contributing factors to dental fear, including: • Past traumatic experiences • Cost • Time • Unknown results
  6. 6. What Refresh Dental is doing to comfort patients… At Refresh Dental we offer sedation dentistry solutions to make you feel more relaxed while you receive treatment. We offer both nitrous oxide and our newest solution called Penthrox.
  7. 7. Nitrous Oxide: This is commonly known as ‘happy gas’ or ‘laughing gas’ and is commonly used in dental practices to put anxious patients at ease. Penthrox: This is typically used to reduce pain for patients with dental emergencies or those feeling anxious about their appointment.
  8. 8. Don’t let your fears stop you from getting the treatment you need By avoiding the dentist because of anxiety or fear, you could be causing even more harm to your health.
