- Simba enterprise for food & produce traceability
1. SIMBA Enterprise Software Provides Full Production Traceability for
Food Processors
Redmond - WA October 1, 2013 / Dynamic Systems, Inc., a Redmond,
Washington software developer specializing in barcode data collection, has
announced the release of SIMBA Enterprise 2013, which is designed to provide
food processors the ability to process, label and track their products from “field or
dock to customer”.
Increase production speed and traceability
The SIMBA (Specialized
Inventory Management with Barcode Accuracy) system solves the problem of
how to produce and track complete product labeling for fresh food on the fly.
SIMBA Enterprise is designed for enterprise level food processors who handle
many complex products and need fast and accurate information for production
and sales. SIMBA tracks, labels and ships an unlimited number of products with
specific species and characteristics. The system automatically generates bills of
lading and verifies shipments, and eliminating charge-backs. SIMBA Enterprise
allows you to track and organize products by pallet, lot and case including
repeated commingling and re-boxing. Inventory can be tracked by location,
tracks moves from warehouse to warehouse, re-pack and commingle products at
any point in the process without losing lot traceability.

2. The system runs on a mobile barcode data collection terminal, and allows the
worker to produce product labels with all pertinent information (including a GS-1
code), capturing product information (weight, size, color, grade) for that carton or
bag. The label information is then stored in the SIMBA Inventory database which
provides data for inventory management, traceability and shipping. The cartons
may be accumulated onto a pallet and tracked with a single pallet identifier.
Van Loading
At the time of shipping, the Van Loading feature of SIMBA
Enterprise tracks each carton or pallet onto a specific van. A Bill of Lading is
then produced automatically. This feature not only saves time in the shipping
process, it eliminates disputes with the customer regarding what was actually
shipped.
Results
Key results from implementing the SIMBA software include
increased production speed; the ability to get real-time, accurate production
reports; ability to fulfill traceability requirements; accurate inventory; professional
looking carton and pallet labels; and expedited van loading.
