  • 2. What are landforms? Landforms are the natural shapes or features on earth’s surface. There are many different types of landforms found on the earth.
  • 3. Different Landforms
  • 4. 1) Mountain A mountain is a place on Earth’s surface that is much higher than the land around it.
  • 5. 2) Hill Smaller than mountains.
  • 6. 3) Valley A valley is a low area between higher lands such as mountains.
  • 7. 4) Canyon A canyon is deep valley with high, steep sides.
  • 8. 5) Cliff A cliff is high land made of rocks and soil.
  • 9. 6) Plain A plain is a flat area on Earth’s surface.
  • 10. 7) Plateau A plateau is a flat area higher than the land around it.
  • 11. 8) Desert A desert is a hot dry place with little or no rain.
  • 12. 9) Beach A beach is the land along a body of water.
  • 13. 10) Dune A dune is a mound of sand.

  • 16. 1) Ocean Oceans are the largest bodies of water on earth.
  • 17. 2) Coast A coast is where a body of water meets land.
  • 18. 3) Tributary A tributary is a small river or stream.
  • 19. 4) River A river is a flowing body of water.
  • 20. 5) Lake A lake is a body of water surrounded by land.
  • 21. 6) Waterfall A natural stream of water falling from a high place.
  • 22. 7) Estuary A estuary is where river water and ocean water meet.
  • 23. 8) Delta A delta is the mass of land that forms where the river ocean meet.
  • 24. 9) Inlet An inlet is a narrow body of water off a large body of water.
