How to upload a pdf or doc and link to it in MODX Revo Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Choose the Files tab in the site tree. Make sure you aren’t on Resources or ElementsMonday, January 14, 2013
  • 2. Choose the directory you wish to upload to. The folder will open and you can see the files that are there underneath.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 3. Then click upload files.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 4. Choose “Add” and then browse to the file yo wish to uploadMonday, January 14, 2013
  • 5. This will queue the file. Click Upload to upload.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 6. File will be “OK” when it is uploaded. Check file size and make it smaller if it fails.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 7. Go to resources tab and edit the file you wish to place the linked file in by choosing it from the site menu tree.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 8. Highlight the text you wish to link and then click the chain icon in the Rich Text EditorMonday, January 14, 2013
  • 9. Click the square browse icon to open the file browser and find the document that you just uploaded.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 10. The file browser will open in a new window. You may have to allow pop-ups. Do that if needed. You may need to navigate to the directory where your files live to access them. The first files you see in the file browser are probably those in the root directory.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 11. When you choose the right directory, you will see the file you just uploaded. Double click it.Monday, January 14, 2013
  • 12. Double clicking the file name will place the correct path in the Link URL field. Click Insert or Update and then save the page. You’re done.Monday, January 14, 2013
