What is E-Rate?<br />The E-Rate program is administered by the Schools and Libraries Division of the USAC. <br />The program ensures all eligible schools and libraries affordable access to telecommunications.<br />E-Rate provides between a 20-90% discount to eligible schools and libraries. <br />
BISD Technology Plan<br />BISD was required to submit a technology plan to begin the E-Rate application process.<br />BISD plan covers 3 years<br />BISD plan is flexible to accommodate future technologies<br />
BISD Goals:<br />Goal 1: Incorporate technology as an integral part of education.<br />Goal 2. Provide staff development for all in the use of appropriate emerging technologies and their integration as a natural part of education.<br />Goal 3: Include technology-based systems when making district or campus instructional and management decisions.<br />Goal 4: The district will secure adequate funding for maintaining state-of-the art technology resources for all BISD facilities. <br />
Assessment<br />The STAR chart is used to assess skill level and directly plan for professional development. <br />Everyone, even the superintendent, attends technology professional development.<br />
