  • 1. Question 1
  • 2. I stuck to the codes andconventions of the musicmagazines. Using a basic colourscheme and a clean backgroundit keeps the cover lookingfresh and bold. The simplecolour scheme doesn’t distractthe reader from the image andcontent.I have used a central imagewith a direct mode of addressto draw the reader in. It alsomakes the magazine look to aprofessional standard. The masthead is bold and simplein order for it to beidentified easily. It is directand could easily become iconicin the music industry. The coverlines are an easyindicator of the content and iswhat should draw the reader in,I have made the catchy and tothe point to keep the interestof the reader and to make themwant to buy the magazine. Ihave used informal language sothe reader feels connected andcan relate more.
  • 3. For the contents page, Iwanted to keep it simple. It is easy for the readerto identify the articlethey want to read. Thecolour scheme complimentsthat of the front cover andthe rest of the magazine. The images used are fromlive performances whichwill appeal to the targetaudience as it is aimed atpeople who enjoy gigs. Iconverted the image toblack and white tocompliment the colourscheme. The headings are short, simple are direct; theextra informationunderneath gives the readera slight insight into thearticle to help draw themin. Again I have stuck withinformal language. The top articles are themagazines regular contentand the bottom is thefeature articles. It is simple yet veryaesthetically pleasing. Itlooks professional andgives you all theinformation you need forthe rest of the magazine.
  • 4. The headline is very simple and I have used a decorative font to enhance the asthetics. The by-line is a play on words and tells the reader who it is about and what the article entails, if the reader was unaware of who the article is about, it is now very clear to them. I have included a quote from the artist which relates to the article. I have used a direct quote from the artist as it grabs the reader’s attention and makes them want to read the article.I have used a live picture from one of theshows I attended. These make the reader feelcloser to the band and are more intrigued bythem. The black and white tone complements thesimple colour scheme making it visuallypleasing. The drop cap matches the colour scheme andagain are in a bold font to draw the readerin. The first paragraph gives a goodimpression and makes the reader want to carryon reading. It gives just the right amount ofinformation needed.
