  • olufsphere olufsphere @readwriteweb The conversation is social, but that is down to what slideshare delivers, not to what you deliver.
    Every time you put something online that requires registration, you are effectively 'selling' it in the modern economi, as opposed to 'sharing' it, in a 'social', 'synergistic' way.

    Personally, I'm interested in reading the report, but I'm not interested in bying a service or recieving a number of emails about something that could possibly be completely irrellevant. Only problem is, I don't know this (and neither do you), before I have read the report. In other words, there is no use for my contact details, unless I express interest AFTER having read the report, except for using it for unsolicited mails or phonecalls.

    In this case, none of us will ever know, because I will never read the report, and I will turn to other sources for my information. The misuse of 'sharing' becomes a lose-lose proposition.
