  • Making a difference. Minnesota Reading Corps
  • One program.
    • Minnesota Reading Corps.
  • One problem.
    • Minnesota children struggling with reading.
  • One solution. One child at a time.
    • There are people in this world who talk about making a change …
    • and then there are people who make change happen.
  • YOU are making change happen.
    • You are part of the solution to ending illiteracy in Minnesota.
  • We are Minnesota Reading Corps.
    • We are 360 members strong.
    • We answered a call to service.
    • We serve children who need us, every day .
    • We work tirelessly, and get paid in smiles.
  • We serve in 160 sites … all over Minnesota.
  • Next year, we will serve in 250 sites … all over Minnesota.
  • We help students who need a little extra support. Ensuring that no child falls through the cracks.
  • Together, we reached 9,000 of these students.
  • And, I don’t mean to brag, but … we’re pretty good at what we do.
  • MRC children are passing the 3rd grade MCA II at rates higher than Minnesota children in general. Exited MRC students Exited MRC students Exited MRC students
  • Virtually unheard of across the nation, we are pioneering the RtI model in the field of early childhood.
  • And we continuously show improved results. We use data to figure out how to best teach children.
  • We are pioneers.
    • More than a dozen states want to replicate Reading Corps.
We are building a foundation for a national movement.
  • We are Minnesota Reading Corps.
  • We are making a difference.
  • We are grateful for your service.
  • We are proud of you.
