Consultation <ul><li>Membership of group from across University </li></ul><ul><li>Email consultation undertaken </li></ul><ul><li>University wide discussion at Student Experience Forum </li></ul><ul><li>Consultation with Associate Deans </li></ul><ul><li>Informed by literature review completed by Peter Hughes in 2007 </li></ul>

  5. 5. <ul><li>Helps students manage the transition to, from and within university </li></ul><ul><li>Provides a framework for personal and academic development (PDP) </li></ul><ul><li>Tracks engagement of students and awareness of extenuating circumstances </li></ul><ul><li>Provides a personal and academic reference on completion of studies to be kept on file </li></ul>Focus of Role

  7. 7. <ul><li>Policy paper discussed at 26th May LTC. </li></ul><ul><li>School based discussions on implementation May 2010 onwards </li></ul><ul><li>Staff development activities provided from June 2010 onwards </li></ul><ul><li>Staff and Student Guides to the Academic Advisor Role produced by end August 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>Schools to articulate localized arrangements for all programmes and to communicate these to the Dean of Students by the end of August 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>Implementation of new policy from September 2010 onwards </li></ul><ul><li>2010/11 Explore wider systems of pastoral and welfare support to ensure clarity and timeliness of communications between central services and Academic Advisors. </li></ul><ul><li>2010/11 Further refine and explore recording and communications systems to support Academic Advisors and students. </li></ul>Timescales for Implementation
