Petroleum: Petroleum or petrochemicals are commonly found in a variety of personal care products like shampoos, contain cancer-causing impurities that contaminate them. Mercury: Found in mascara and eye drops! This ingredient is often listed on the label as “thimerosal”. Pathalates: Small plasticizer chemicals that are hormone disruptors, especially with males. Commonly found in nail polishes and “fragrances”. Mink or Emu Oil: Used as conditioning agents in sunscreens, shaving creams and hair sprays. The oil comes from the fat extracted from the hides of these animals.
Parabens: Typically used as preservatives, a possible carcinogenic. Triclosan: Hormone disruptor commonly found in hand sanitizers.
