Following text from: Ridding the World of Niggers(as) Dr. Lathardus Goggins II Nigger, nigga, spade, coon, jigaboo, darky, darkie, darkey, pickaninny, piccaninny, picaninny-- ethnic slur; offensive name for Black person. It is otherwise a word expressive of racial hatred and bigotry. Many in the African American ethic group continue to refer to themselves and other New Afrikans as niggers (niggas). This is a campaign to provide the ignorant with the knowledge to make an informed decision about ones self and by extension ones family, community and world. Consider the following quotes: When you control a mans thinking you do not have to worry about his actions. You do not have to tell him not to stand here or go yonder. He will find his "proper place" and will stay in it. You do not need to send him to the back door. He will go without being told. In fact, if there is no back door, he will cut one for his own benefit. …. Carter G. Woodson (1933). • 4. destruction of the African American community. Their use of nigger (nigga) is an outwardmanifestation of their “mis-education” and enslaved mind. A History of the Word NiggerText contributing writers: Phil Middleton and David Pilgrim. Dr. David Pilgrim, Dept. ofSociology Ferris State University, 2001 The history of the word nigger is often traced to the Latin word niger, meaning black. This word became the noun negro (black person) in English, and simply the color black in Spanish and Portuguese. In Early Modern French niger became negre and, later, negress (black woman) was unmistakably a part of lexical history. One can compare to negre the derogatory nigger and earlier English substitutes such as negar, neegar, neger, and niggor that developed into its lexico- semantic true version in English. It is probable that nigger is a phonetic spelling of the white Southern mispronunciation of Negro. No matter what its origins, by the early 1800s it was firmly established as a degenerativenickname. In the 21st century, it remains a principal symbol of white racism regardless of who isusing it. Social scientists refer to words like nigger, kike, spic, and wetback come from threecategories: disparaging nicknames (chink, dago, nigger, etc); explicit group devaluations ("Jewhim down," or "niggering the land"); and irrelevant ethnic names used as a mild disparagement("jewbird" for cuckoos having prominent beaks or "Irish confetti" for bricks thrown in a fight).Racial slurs (over time) have victimized all racial and ethnic groups; but, no American groupgoes through as many racial nicknames as Blacks: coon, tom, savage, picanniny, mammy, buck, sambo, jigaboo, buckwheat are some. Many of these slurs became fully traditionalpseudo-scientific, literary, cinematic, and everyday distortions of African Americans. Thesecaricatures, whether spoken, written, or reproduced in media, and material objects, reflect theextent, the vast network, of anti-black prejudice. The word nigger carries with it much of the hatred and disgust directed toward Black Africansand African Americans. Historically, nigger defined, limited, made fun of, and ridiculed allBlacks. It was a term of exclusion, a verbal reason for discrimination. Whether used as a noun, verb, or adjective, it strengtened the stereotype of the lazy, stupid, dirty, worthless nobody. Noother American surname carries as much purposeful cruelty. The following shortlist is importantinformation on the words use and meaning.Page 4
  • 5. Niggerish: Acting in a lazy and irresponsible manner.Nigger lipping: wetting the end of a cigarette while smoking it.Niggerlover: Derogatory term aimed at whites lacking in the necessary loathing of blacks.Nigger luck: Exceptionally good luck, emphasis on undeserved.Nigger-flicker: A small knife or razor with one side heavily taped to preserve the users fingers.Nigger heaven: Designated places, usually the balcony, where blacks were forced to sit,for example, in an integrated movie theater or church.Nigger knocker: Axe handle or weapon made from an axe handle.Nigger rich: Deeply in debt but flamboyant.Nigger shooter: A slingshot.Nigger steak: A slice of liver or a cheap piece of meat.Nigger stick: Police officers baton.Nigger tip: Leaving a small tip or no tip in a restaurant. Nigger in the woodpile: A concealedmotive or unknown factor affecting a situation in an adverse way.Nigger work: Demeaning, menial tasks.Nigger (as a word) is also used to describe a dark shade of color (nigger-brown, nigger-black),the status of whites that mix together with Blacks (nigger-breaker, dealer, driver, killer, stealer, worshipper, and looking), and anything belonging to or linked to New Afrikans(nigger-baby, boy, girl, mouth, feet, preacher, job, love, culture, college, music, etc). Nigger is the ultimateAmerican insult; it is used to offend other ethnic groups. Jews are called white-niggers; Arabs, sandniggers; or Japanese, yellow-niggers. Americans created a racial hierarchy with whites atthe top and Blacks at the bottom. In biology, heredity refers to the transference of biological characteristics from a parentorganism to offspring. The word Nigger speaks to the human heredity of Black people. Definingwhich characteristics of a final person are due to heredity and which are due to environmentalinfluences is often a site of controversy (the nature versus nurture debate), especially regardingintelligence and race. The chain of command was set up by an ideology that justified the use of deceit, exploitation, and intimidation to keep Blacks "in their place." Every major societal establishment offeredlegitimacy to the racial hierarchy. Ministers preached that God was white and had condemnedPage 5
  • 6. Blacks to be servants. Scientists measured Black skulls, brains, faces, and genitalia, seeking toprove that whites were genetically superior to Blacks. White teachers, teaching only whitestudents, taught that Blacks were less evolved cognitively, psychologically, and socially. Theentertainment media, from vaudeville to television & film, portrayed Blacks as docile servants,happy-go-lucky idiots, and dangerous thugs and they still do this today. The criminal justicesystem sanctioned a double standard of justice, including its unspoken approval of mobviolence against Blacks and they still have a similar double standard today. Both Americanslavery and the Jim Crow Laws, which followed, were saturated by anti-Black laws and images. The negative portrayals of Blacks were both reflected in and shaped by everyday materialobjects: toys, postcards, ashtrays, detergent boxes, fishing lures, and children’s books. Theseitems, and countless others, portrayed Blacks with bulging, darting eyes, fire-red oversized lips, jet black skin, and either naked or poorly clothed. In 1874, the McLoughlin Brothers of New York produced a puzzle game called "Chopped UpNiggers." Beginning in 1878, the B. Leidersdory Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, producedNiggerHair Smoking Tobacco decades later the name was changed to BiggerHair SmokingTobacco. A 1916 magazine ad, copyrighted by Morris & Bendien, showed a black child drinkingink. The caption read, "Nigger Milk" (shown). In 1917, the American Tobacco Company had aNiggerHair redemption promotion. NiggerHair coupons were redeemable for "cash, tobacco, S.& H. Green stamps, or presents." The J. Millhoff Company of England produced a series ofcards in the 1930s, which were widely distributed in the United States. One of the cards showsten small black dogs with the caption: "Ten Little Nigger Boys Went Out To Dine."This is the first line from a popular childrens story called, "The Ten Little Niggers," it reads likethis. Ten Little Nigger Boys went out to dine; one choked his little self, and then there were nine.Nine Little Nigger Boys sat up very late; one overslept, and then there were eight. Eight LittleNigger Boys traveling in Devon; one said hed stay there, and then there were seven. SevenLittle Nigger Boys chopping up sticks; one chopped himself in halves, and then there were six.Six Little Nigger Boys playing with a hive; a Bumblebee stung one, and then there were five.Five Little Nigger Boys going in for Law; one got in Chancery, and then there were four. FourLittle Nigger Boys going out to Sea; A Red Herring swallowed one, and then there were three.Three Little Nigger Boys walking in the Zoo; the big Bear hugged one, and then there were two;Two Little Nigger Boys sitting in the Sun; one got frizzled up, and then there was one. One LittleNigger Boy living all alone; He got married, and then there were none.In 1939, writer Agatha Christie published a book called Ten Little Niggers. Later editionssometimes changed the name to Ten Little Indians, or And Then There Were None, but as lateas 1978, copies of the book with the original title were being produced. It was not rare for sheetmusic produced in the first half of the 20th century to use the word nigger on the cover. TheHowley, Haviland Company of New York, produced sheet music for the songs "Hesitate Mr.Nigger, Hesitate," and "Youse Just A Little Nigger, Still Youse Mine, All Mine." This lastexample was promoted as a childrens lullaby. Some small towns used nigger in their names, forexample, Nigger Run Fork, Virginia. Nigger was a common name for darkly colored pets,Page 6
  • 7. especially dogs, cats, and horses. So-called "Jolly Nigger Banks," first made in the 1800s, werewidely distributed as late as the 1960s. Another common piece with many variations, producedon posters, postcards, and prints is a picture of a dozen black children rushing for a swimminghole. The caption reads, "Last One Ins A Nigger."The civil rights movement, Supreme Court decisions, the Black empowerment movement, broadcivil rights legislation, and a general embracing of democracy by many American citizens haveworn down America’s racial pecking order from slavery moving into Jim Crow period and today’sinstitutional racism. Yet, the word nigger has not left and its relationship with anti-Blackprejudice remains symbiotic, interrelated, and interconnected. Ironically it is co-dependentbecause a racist society created nigger and continues to feed and sustain it. But, the word nolonger needs racism, or brutal and obvious forms, to survive. The word nigger today has its ownexistence.Another interesting and confusing experience in American speech is the use of nigger byAfrican Americans. Poetry by Blacks is instructive, one can often find the word nigger used inBlack writings. Major and minor poets alike have used it with startling results: Imamu AmiriBaraka, contemporary poet, uses nigger in one of his angriest poems, "I Dont Love You." andwhat was the world to the words of slick nigger fathers too depressed to explain why they couldnot appear to be men. One wonders how are readers supposed to understand "nigger fathers"?Barakas use of this imagery, regardless of his purpose, reinforces the stereotype of theworthless, pleasure-seeking Coon caricature. Ted Joanss use of nigger in "The Nice ColoredMan" is an example of explainable expression. Joans said he was asked to give a reading inLondon because he was a "nice colored man." Infuriated by the labels "nice" and "colored",Joans wrote a quintessential rebellious poem. While the poem should be read in its entirety, afew lines will do: Smart Black Nigger Smart Black Nigger Smart Black Nigger Smart BlackNigger Knife Carrying Nigger Gun Toting Nigger Military Nigger Clock Watching NiggerPoisoning Nigger Disgusting Nigger Black Ass Nigger. This piece uses adjective upon adjectiveattached to the word nigger. The reality is that many of these uses can be heard in present-day African-American society.Herein lies part of the difficulty: the word nigger endures because it is used over and over again, even by the people it insults. Writer Devorah Major, said, "Its hard for me to say what someonecan or cant say, because I work with language all the time, and I dont want to be limited." Poetand professor Opal Palmer Adisa claims that the use of nigger or nigga is "the same as youngpeoples obsession with swearing. A lot of their use of such language is an internalization ofnegativity about themselves." Rappers, themselves poets, rap about niggers before mostlywhite audiences, some of whom see themselves as wiggers (white niggers) and refer to oneanother as "my niggah." Snoop Doggy Dogg’s single, "You Thought," raps, "Wanna grab askinny nigga like Snoop Dogg/Cause you like it tall/and work it baby doll." Tupac Shakur’s"Crooked Ass Nigga." lyrics included, "Now I could be a crooked nigga too/When Im rollin withmy crew." Also rap lyrics that degrade women and glamorize violence reinforce the historicalBrute Caricature.Page 7
  • 8. Erdman Palmore researched lexicons and said: the number of offensive words used correlatespositively with the amount of out-group prejudice; and these express and support negativestereotypes about the most visible racial and cultural differences. When used by Blacks, niggerrefers to among other things: all Blacks ("A nigger cant even get a break."); Black men ("Sisterswant niggers to work all day long."); Blacks who behave in a stereotypical, and sometimeslegendary, manners ("Hes a lazy, good-for-nothing nigger."); things ("This piece-of-shit car issuch a nigger."); enemys ("Im sick and tired of those niggers bothering me!"); and friends ("Meand my niggers are tight."). This final habit, as a kind word, is particularly challenging. "ZupNiggah," has become an almost universal greeting among young urban Blacks. When asked,Blacks who use nigger or its variants argue that: it has to be understood in its situation;repeated use of the word by Blacks will make it less offensive. It’s not really the same wordbecause whites are saying nigger (and niggers) but Blacks are saying niggah (and niggaz). Alsoit is just a word and Blacks should not be prisoners of the past or the ugly words that originatedin the past. These arguments may not be true to life. Brother (Brotha) and Sister (Sistha or Sista) are termsof endearment. Nigger was and still is a word of disrespect. More to the point, the artificialdichotomy between Blacks or New Afrikans(respectable and middle-class) and niggers(disrespectable and lower class) ought to be challenged. Black is a nigger, regardless ofbehavior, earnings, goals, clothing, skills, ethics, or skin color. Finally, if continued use of theword lessened its damage then nigger would not hurt or cause pain now. Blacks, from slavery tiltoday, have internalized many negative images that white society cultivated and broadcastabout Black skin and Black people. This is mirrored in cycles of self-and same-race hatred. Theuse of the word nigger by Blacks reflects this hatred, even when the user is unaware of thepsychological forces involved. Nigger is the ultimate expression of white racism and whitesuperiority nomatter how it is pronounced. It is linguistic corruption, an attack on civility. To a smaller scale words other than Nigger also remain accepted public banter in whiteAmerica. In 1988, on Martin Luther Kings birthday, sports commentator Jimmy (The Greek)Snyder said (on national television) that Black people were better at sports because of slaveplantation breeding techniques. "During the slave period, the slave owner would breed his Blackwith his big woman so that he would have a big black-kid thats were it all started." Anothersports announcer Billy Packer referred to Pro-basketball player Allan Iverson as a "toughmonkey." Another announcer, Howard Cosell referred to Alvin Garrett, a pro football player withthe Washington Redskins as "little monkey" during a Monday Night Football game. Thecomments made by Cosell and Packer did not go without any punitive consequences. Nigger isone of the most notorious words in American culture. Some words carry more weight thanothers. But without trying to exaggerate, is genocide just another word? Pedophilia? Clearly, noand neither is nigger. After a period of relative dormancy, the word nigger has been reborn in popular culture. It ishard-edged, streetwise, and it has crossed over into movies like Pulp Fiction (1994) and JackieBrown (1997), where it became a symbol of "street authenticity" and hip-ness. DenzelWashingtons character in Training Day (2001) uses nigger frequently and harshly. RichardPryor long ago rejected the use of the word in his comedy act, but Chris Rock, Chris Tucker andPage 8
  • 9. other Black male comedy kings, use nigger regularly and not affectionately. Justin Driver, asocial critic, makes a case that both Rock and Tucker are modern minstrels shucking, jiving, and grinning, in the tradition of Stepin Fetchit. White supremacists have found the Internet anindispensable tool for spreading their message of hate. An Internet search of nigger usingNetscape or Alta Vista locates many anti-Black web pages: Niggers Must Die, Hang A NiggerFor America, Nigger Joke Central, and many others. Web searchers find what most Blacksknow from personal experience, that nigger is an expression of anti-Black hostility. Wihtoutquestion nigger is the most commonly used racist slur during hate crimes. No American minority group has been caricatured as often, in as many ways, as Black people. These misrepresentations feature distorted physical descriptions and negative cultural andbehavior stereotypes. The Coon caricature, for example, was a tall, skinny, loose-jointed, dark-skinned male, often bald, with oversized, ruby-red lips. His clothing was either ragged and dirtyor extremely gaudy. His slow, exaggerated walk suggested laziness. He was a pauper, lackingambition and the skills necessary for upward social mobility. He was a buffoon. Whenfrightened, the Coons eyes bulged and darted. His speech was slurred, halted, and stuffed withmalapropisms. His piercing, high-pitched voice made whites laugh. The Coon caricaturedehumanized Blacks, and served to justify social, economic, and political discrimination. Niggermay be viewed as an umbrella term, a way of saying that Blacks have the negativecharacteristics of the Coon, Buck, Tom, Mammy, Sambo, Picaninny, and other anti-Blackcaricatures.Nigger, like the false impressions it incorporates and means, puts down Blacks, and rationalizestheir abuse. The use of the word or its alternatives by Blacks has not lessened its hurt. This isnot surprising in a racial hierarchy four centuries old, shaping the historical relationship betweenEuropean Americans and African Americans. Anti-Black attitudes, motives, values, andbehavior continue. Historically, Nigger more than any other word capture the personal hatredand institutionalized racism directed toward Blacks. It still does.In 2003, the fight to correct the shameful availability of this word has had positive results.Recently Kweisi Mfume, President and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement ofColored People (NAACP), gave a speech at Virginia Tech. There everyone was informed that alandmark decision was made with the people at Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Recognizing theirerror, beginning with the next edition the word nigger will no longer be synonymous with African-Americans in their publication.Text contributing writers: Phil Middleton and David Pilgrim. • 10. THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE "N" WORD By: Pianke Nubiyang Date: 27, January 02THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE "N" WORD HAD A CONNOTATION CONNECTED TOTHE GODSThe word "nig..." used to be the most revered and sacred word in the universe. It was the"devine epithet," and the people who began using the mother of all words that originated fromthis word which was sullied by the British, were the ancient Egyptians or better, the Khemites, who called their land, "Khemet" or "The Black Land," and also used the name, "Ta-merri" or"The Beloved Land.”The father of the "n" word was the word used by the ancient Egyptians for "God." That word was"N-g-r" and as one can see, there are no vowels in this word. In the ancient African and eventhe present African languages (the Afro-Asiatic linguistic family) vowels such as "a,e,i,o,u" arenot found in many translations, particularly of ancient Hebrew and Egyptian languages. In the translation of ancient Egyptian and Hebrew (which is heavily influenced by Egyptian), onewill not always find vowels, therefore, very few people will realize that the word for God, which is"N-g-r" pronounced "en-ger" was the Egyptian word for God. In fact, the Egyptian word for"nature," is also the word used for God. That word is "ntyr," (pronounced net-jer." Now prouncethe word "nigg.." and the word "net-jer," and one sees the clear connection.MANY AFRICAN WORDS DENOTING PEOPLE OR IMPORTANT PEOPLE STARTS WITH "N"In many African languages particularly the Niger-Congo language family. Words that connectswith people, Gods, and groups begin with "n" and that word is always the first word. Forinstance, the word "Nkosi" in Xhosa is "God." The word "Ndaba," in another South Africanlanguage is "counsil" (or gathering of elders). Many common names also begin with "N".WORDS OF AFRICAN ORIGINS THAT CAME FROM THE ORIGINAL WORD, "N-G-R"(PROUNOUNCED EN-JER)N-g-r (Egyptian;pronounced en-jer) = GodN-t-y-r (Egypt; pronounced net-ger) = God, DevineNegash (Ethiopia; ne-gash) = KingNegus (Ethiopia; ne-goos) = EmperorNkosi (Xhosa; en-kosi) = GodNdaba (Zulu; en-daba) = Counsil/Officials,Naga (East Indian, Nubian = PeopleNugarmarta (West African = People (See the writings of Ibn Buttatas journey to West Africa)Page 10
  • 11. HOW THE N BECAME CORRUPTEDThe Romans are probably the first Europeans to misrepresent the word for God, which was "N-g-r"About the early part of the First Century, Romans tried to invade Ethiopia. (see BLACKHISTORY CHART http://community.webtv.net/nubianem/blackworldnubianempire or go tohttp://community.webtv.net/paulnubiaempire for a list of Nubian Pharaohs and Queens. The Romans who were speakers of Latin always knew of Blacks, there were Blacks in Rome,Italy had an ancient Black presence long before the Latins migrated from Central Asia and NorthEastern Europe during the Aryan migrations. In fact, the Latin ethnic groups is still in existancein the northern part of Italy even today. This part of Italy still grips about Hannibals invasionwhich happened about two thousand two hundred years ago!!!!The Romans had a name for Blacks, it was "Niger" and it meant Black or people of Africanorigins. Thus, Septimus Niger would have meant, Septimus the Negro. Yet, how did theRomans connect the word "Niger" to Black. In ancient times, Blacks were worshipped as Gods. The Gods of Greece came from Egypt. Theworship of the Black Madonna is connected with the worship of Isis, the Egyptian Goddes. Moreover, Blacks in Egypt called their Pharaohs "En-ger" or "N-g-r" he was literally referred toas "THE GOD."It is very possible that when the Romans tried to invade Nubia, they asked for the name of theGod and the term "N-g-r" was probably used in place of "leader" or "king". In Angola, the samealso happened during the 1600s when the word "N-gola" which means "King" (notice the "N"and the "g" in this word as well), came to be "Angola, the name of a kingdom in south westernAfrica.(Read more on Nubian, Egyptian, West African and ancient American trade and commercialconnections in ancient times; see the book, "Susu Economics: The History of Pan-AfricanTrade, Commerce, Money and Wealth," published by 1stBooks Library, www.1stbooks.com alsosee www.barnesandnoble.comWHERE DID THE ROMANS FIRST HEAR THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE "N" WORD.A Roman general invading Nubia from Egypt would probably have used the Egyptian term forPharaoh, which was "N-g-r" (God). This term then was used to refer to all Blacks and as timewent by, the word N-g-r became Niger. In Fact, the Romans also classified their Emperors as"Gods," to follow the Egyptian style. Moreover, as the History Channel poointed out, "Rome wasa collection of villages before the Egyptians built it up."(paraphrased).The word "em-peror" sounds very close to the word "en-jer." That is not a coincidentalconnection.Page 11
  • 12. THE WORD "N-G-R" (EN-JER) AFTER IT WAS CORRUPTED BY THE EUROPEANSNiger = (Latin or Black/African pronounced "ni-ger.")Nero = Italian for BlackNegre = French for BlackNegro = Spanish for BlackThe English called Blacks "Moore" or "Black-a-Moore" before they began using the word"Negro" to refer to Blacks. FROM THAT WORD CAME THE RACIAL EPITHET, "NIGG.."In like manner, the racist term for Japanese the mutilation of the word to shorten it into anepithet. Furthermore, the original name for Japan is the Chinese "Ni-Han." Now here is anothergreat mystry that people who study the Niger-Congo linguistic family would quickly notice.EVEN THE WORD "Ni" in the Chinese "Ni-Han," has and ancient African connection. In fact, asClyde Walters points out, The Chinese language is directly related to the Niger-Congo languagewhich has its roots in the Cameroon region of Africa. In fact, there are thousands of Africanwords from Cameroon to Kenya that have both prefixes and suffixes that are identical to bothChinese and Japanese languages (see also African Presence in Early Asia, by Ivan VanSertima; Transaction Publishers)In the Case of "Ni-Han" which may mean "rising sun," there is also a sacred meaning that isfound in the word "n-ger," or "ne-gro." Yet, the racist terms "nip," and "nigg..." or "jap," used byracists were and are being used without any understanding of their original meanings. Onlyhatred and envy comes out of the mouths of those who use racial epithets in their attempt toinsult and denegrade others. However, it is up to us to study our history and make these racistwords impotent, while at the same time, understanding their original meaning.Connection with the prefix "ni" with sacred and life:Nile = The Nile River, Life to the EgyptiansNi-ger = River in West AfricaNiger = Nation in West AfricaNigeria = Nation in West AfricaNago = Racist term used by some SE Asians to refer to Black Melanesians of Africoid originsNago-Mina = African nationality in NigeriaNaghual = Aztec word for Shaman or priest. The first Olmec Shamans in Mexico came fromNigeria and elsewhere in West Africa (see Black Civilizations of Americahttp://community.webtv.net/paulnubiaempirePage 12
  • 13. THE ORIGINS OF THE TERM "HUN."The racist term for whites also comes from a word that struck fear in the hearts of whites duringthe ancint times. That word is "Hun." The Huns were Mongol barbarians from Mongolia whotried to invade China and finally succeeded. THye invaded Eurasia from Russia all the way toGermany and mixed in with the Caucasians. Hence, the British began calling Germans the term"Hun."The countries of Hungary, East Germany, northern Italy, Russia, Poland and much of EasternEurope is mixed with the Mongol invaders. There were Mongol invaders in Turkey, Afghanistan,India, and many nations.THE MONGOLS WERE DEFEATED BY NUBIANS AND MAMELUKESWhen the Huns tried to invade Egypt (sometime in the 1100s), they were met by a strong forceof Nubians and Mamelukes (white slaves from slavic, Turkics from Bosnia, Serbia, Albania,Turkey and such nations), who were soldiers for the Egyptian rulers. The Mongols weredefeated and that was the end of the Mongol Empire. Moreover, they were thinly spread overEurasia. They also met a crack cavalry of Nubian horsemen and archers, who had a tradition ofarchery that extends way back to ancient Egyptian times. When one studies the history of the Huns in Europe, it is one of the most horrible genocides thatexisted (the genocide against Black Sudras and Black Australoids in India is another greatgenocide; see "Sudrology, http://dalitstan.org )The huns ravaged Europe and are said to spread the blacck plague by shooting plague infestedrats in the walled towns of the Europeans to infest them.WE MUST STUDY OUR HISTORY IN ORDER TO DEVELOP OUR CONSCIOUSNESS ANDMAKE PEOPLES RACIST REMARKS IMPOTENTWe must study our history. It is by knowing who we are that racist remarks and racial epithetswill become impotent. Every time one uses the word "nigg..." to refer to a Black person, they areactually calling that person "God." When we Blacks say that our Afros and locks are "natural,"we dont realize the significance of the word or the true meaning. But something in ourconsciousness simply cannot be destroyed. To say we are going "natural," means we are goingback to being "gods," because the word "natural," comes from the original Egyptian word, "n-t-y-r" which means "God." The ancient Egyptians used a similar word to call their Pharoahs. Thatword was "N-g-r." The word "Pharaoh," was never used to refer to any Egyptian King. Pharaohcame from the word "Per-o" which was the term for the Great Temple, where the King lived.P.
