  5. 5. 1. To familiarize and expose learners to a widevariety of 19th and 20th century African-Americanleaders and our rich history of struggles for humanand civil rights, national liberation and selfdetermination. 5

To expose learners to a Concentrically IntegratedAfrican-Centered Liberal Arts Curriculum-including,online mini-lectures, commentaries and interviewsfrom our authors, playwrights, poets, activist andscholars-that will enable large amounts ofinformation to be comprehended in a relativelyshort period of time. 6
  7. 7. 3. To continue the development of an appreciationof Afrikan-Centered Education propagated throughthe Afrikan oral & musical traditions; includingAfrikan Drums, Spoken Word / Rap, R & B, Blues,Jazz and Reggae. 7

To draw lessons from the rich legacy of struggleand resistance to oppression within the New Afrikan(Afrikans in America) community through criticalanalysis of videos, photo-stories, multimedia essaysand PowerPoint shows and scholarly charts, tables,graphs and PDF documents; thus fostering socio-political activism in the learners own lives. 8
  9. 9. 5. To develop, encourage and diversify strategies forlearning about and responding to social, political,cultural and moral issues impacting Afrikans inAmerica, thus increasing psycho-cultural and socio-political comprehension , interpretation, action andreaction skills. 9

To synthesize serious community issues usingmulti-faceted content and learning objects whichrepresent the perspective of those who are in anAmerican minority group; and apply said principlesand generalizations in investigation of societalissues and problems from an Afrikan-Centeredperspective. 10
