• 1. Blockflix Grid Team Blockflix is a movie rental business solution that has been developed with access to the database provided exclusively by stored procedures. Certain key business processes such as collection and review of payments for membership, or penalties are beyond the scope of the backend that we have developed. We designed the database to allow each store to have it’s own database needed for a high availability system but did not include the supporting processes in this exercise.
 • 2. Blockflix Grid Team

The system has the functionality to:

Accept new inventory for Store 1, our headquarters store.

Process basic Business transactions such as rentals, returns, and movies reported as lost or damaged.

Inquiries to the database which will provide information for the customer or store employee.

Provide reports to business units that may be used for trending analysis or other purposes.

 • 3. Blockflix Grid Team We did not provide a procedure to disperse inventory among the branch stores as that was believed to be part of a scenario where each store would have a local database. We did however write a script to disperse the inventory across all stores so that we could prove our inquiries and reports work properly.
 • 4. Blockflix Grid Team

We have provided stake holders with the ability to track items via stored procedures and reports as shown on the following screens.

Some of the items of interest are:

The ability to track inventory

The ability to locate what movies are in what store

The ability to see what copies are checked out

List the members for each Membership Plan

List of Lost or Damaged Movies

List of most rented movies
