  • 1. Evaluation Question 7 Looking back at your preliminary task(the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the main task?
  • 2. Research and PlanningMy research and planning skills have improved massively from my prelim to my final product, thisis because for my prelim I only went through 3 steps which were looking at range of professionalmagazines to consider layout, produce flat plans to get my ideas down and see roughly what mymagazine would look like, then finally creating the magazine. However for my final product I didlots more research in order for my magazine to appear professional and appeal to a specific targetaudience. I did still produce flat plans though. As you can see there is a great difference between the flat plans for the prelim and forthe final product with more consideration for detail and appearance.
  • 3. Research and Planning• Other research for the final product I did that I did not do for the prelim was target audience research. I looked at reader profiles for existing magazines that had a similar audience to mine such as Q and NME to see who my audience would be and what type of magazine would appeal to them. I also interviewed some of my classmates to further this.
  • 4. Research and Planning• Another bit of research missing from my prelim task was the location recees, model release forms, call sheets and hazard risk assessments, these made sure that I had the right models and location to provide the best images possible for my magazine.
  • 5. ConstructionAs you can see between the prelim(left) and final magazine (right) there is a hugedifference as the final product looks more professional and the prelim looksrushed and very basic.
